RC Car World (Hobby Shop + Tracks) — Attraction in Cinnaminson Township

The inventory here, while not super organized yet, is impressive. Great car selection as well as parts. I went in with the intentions of spending a lot more money than the $100 or so I did spend. I had a couple of questions regarding a specific motor and ESC combo that I was willing to buy to upgrade but instead I was treated like I knew nothing and directed to a motor that was allegedly a drop in fit but it was not and now I am stuck with a motor paper weight. I should have been more pushy and just bought the combo I was questioning but I did not feel welcomed here. The owner was very rude to his wife and seemed like he did not want much to do with anyone in the shop. There were a few people in the store at the time I was there so it wasn't super busy. Customer service is not in his wheel house but his wife was helpful and very nice.

Looking at the other reviews that are similar to mine I am sure I will get a response back from the owner in the same tone I was met with in the store. Denying any wrong doing. Improve your face to face customer service, swallow your pride, and be willing to help and this would be a 5 start shop all day long. I drove over an hour because I love going to new RC shops and buying from local businesses. I'd love to go back but I don't think so.

Edit: I was in your shop. The counter, behind the counter and that general area is quite unorganized. You sold me an Axial motor saying it’s a castle and will fit the same as a castle in a 2200kv application. So before you call me out saying I’m fake you should take a look at yourself. Your response to my review proves that what I had stated is true. Your customer service is poor. I’m sorry for you. Your store is awesome but you are not.

Edit 2: I’m not upset, I was writing a review based on what I experienced and I’m not making things up. I love this hobby and as I had mentioned your store and inventory is awesome but the way you treated your wife was incredibly rude and you were hostile towards the customers as if we were a burden on you. That is why you get a 1 star review from me. For me, Your prices could be higher than everyone else (they aren’t) and if your customer service is on point I would pay that price to do business with you. A human. UPDATE BELOW....

We've been there a handful of times. Always found the staff to be rude and unhelpful. The only reason we kept going back was because our 8 year old loves all the cool things in the shop. We bought a new 1/10 Traxxas Big Foot and a used Traxxas 1/18. We had the 1/18 for a couple months before the servo went bad. We took it back and were sold a new servo. Only thing was, it didn't fit. We tried and tried but it was clear it was not the right one. We went back again and were rudely told, "we can sell you another one but it will just be the same one..." We left from there and went straight to another hobby store (AAA). They looked at it and knew it was the wrong one. Sold us the right one and the car works great again. A little friendliness goes a long way with me. I doubt we'll ever go back to RC Car World. Too bad because we would have undoubtably spent a lot of money there.

Update..Hi Mike, I'm sorry you are confused or did not read my review in full. In which I stated, we asked for the correct servo because the one you sold us previously did NOT FIT. We were rudely told, "I can sell you another but it would be the exact one.." We left your place and immediately went to another where we were sold and installed OURSELVES, the new and CORRECT servo.

I also think it was very poor judgement and unprofessional for your wife to privately text me after getting my phone number out of your data base and blaming our experience on Hector, his medical problems, and being medicated. Feel free to read the thread on her phone, or I can send you screenshots.

My issue with your shop is the rudeness. Judging by the wording and undertone of your reply to my review, I can tell this is just your natural way of treating people and it has trickled to your employees.

I will not be recommending this shop to anyone. Try being nicer to your customers and I'm sure more of them will...

Hater for a reason! Customer service is terrible. Don't give your money to these people. Responding to every negative review with an immature comment is not the business practice of someone who deserves any customers.

Took 5 minutes for someone to realize I was in the store (owner is probably going to deny this like he does with other reviews, but there's no way this many people are lying about not being addressed).

Part selection is great, lots of stuff. Two dollar parts behind locked glass.

Maybe if they took the monthly payment of their Tesla with the ugly wrap and invested in some customer service training they'd have a better business 👍

In regards to stealing reply: Someone could easily pick up a body kit or complete rc setup that you have laying out not locked up, and walk out the front door which is next to a nasty smoking area. If you had someone in the store like you were supposed to when a customer walks in you wouldn't have to lock up your parts.

In response to Gia: Hi Gia! I'm sure you're just fine, it's whoever I had to wonder through your store to get and help me purchase a part that I'm really complaining about. I don't care about tanking a business if they treat their customers like the experience I had. Again I think it's best your husband or whoever is responding initially to these reviews understands his childish behavior and how it hurts your business.
