A 62 acre rectangular park that is well forested, lush in the summer, overgrown with invasive vines in places, full of unmarked trails, not well drained in many places, and like it or not heavily used by dog walkers. The dog walkers do an excellent job of cleaning up after their dogs. Inside Ward Acres is a large fenced in dog park(Paws Place), but people also walk dogs in the main park as well. If you have a fear of dogs this not your best park. The park needs a lot of tender loving care even though quite a bit has been invested in it since Noam Branson became mayor. Read moreI have jogged this park a few weekends. It has a fenced off abandoned barn which is falling apart and I think looks pretty cool. Frankly the trails are too short for me. I usually head to Northern Westchester parks for longer trails.
The real headliner though is the dogs run this park, and I'm not just talking about the fenced in dog park section. I've jogged past unleashed dogs (not strays) every trip.
