Easy access and beautiful California scenery. Sagebrush and Sumac. I recommend going early, but that is just a personal hiking preference. Plenty of trails that are easy to navigate and can shorten or lengthen a hike to your liking. Awesome trail.

I liked to hike on this trail. You can see all around up on the hills. I'm starting from Towne, parked my car and start walking at Thompson Creek trail up on the hills and go back to Thompson Creek trail again.

You can do a loop using Sycamore Canyon Trail, Pomelo Canyon Trail, and Thompson Creek Trail. Sycamore Canyon Trail is kind of steep in places; Pomelo is easier. You can also use Santa Catarina trailhead at the top of Mountain to access Johnson Pasture Road, which has alot of trees and shade . I don't recommend including Gale Mtwy as part of your loop, If you do include it, make it the downhill part. It is a steep paved road, not...

This trailhead is waaaayyyy better than where Alltrails.com sends you. Alltrails sends you to the corner of Mountain and Via Catarina. That trail is exposed and has warning signs for mountain lions. THIS trail is paved, partially shaded, great for biking and has benches. I had a great time...
