If you have not yet been to Shepherd's Cross Sheep Farm in Claremore, Oklahoma, then you are missing out on one of Oklahoma's greatest gems! A working farm (with more than sheep), a working wool mill, a delightful garden, an incredible store with items to please everyone, and stellar events throughout the year. One of my favorites is coming up this spring, "Sheep to Shawl" (I think is the name). You will witness and learn exactly how Sheep are sheared, how the wool is cleaned, and each process of turning wool into yarn and then into a shawl! And, you can participate in the major steps with hands-on activities. I think there's also a Petting Zoo then. A great, fun time for all ages. Also, year round, there's the Silo and their Museum. At Christmas each year, you do not want to miss out on the Living Nativity! Fall has hay rides and a Pumpkin Patch. As I said, one of Oklahoma's greatest educational and adventure gems no matter when...

Attending anytime is such a welcome retreat. It is wonderful to know that our support is used for missions work by Dr Dickerson who takes her veterinary skills overseas and stateside helping animals and in...
Read moreA calm and welcoming place to learn about a wide range of topics, including sheep, plants, farm machinery, and more. Visit the silo museum, take a tour, enroll in a class, and purchase goods from the store. You can spend time in the Bible Garden and other areas of the property by bringing a picnic or picking up some delectable treats from the store. The museum featured demonstrations of felting, knitting, yarn spinning, and sheep shearing, as well as kid-friendly games and activities. Additionally, there are goats, sheep, alpacas, and donkeys to pet. This place hosts a nativity during Christmas, as well as fall hay rides and...
