When I got the email that Burnt Hill Farm would be offering $85 tastings/tour, we made a reservation immediately and we're so glad we did!
The property is naturally wild and really stunning. We loved the minimalist architecture against the rolling hills and vineyards. As of now they have a tasting room, a private event space, and they're working on a separate kitchen in the far left building.
We were greeted with a glass of Blanc de Blancs which was crisp and perfect for a September walking tour to learn about the property and polyculture focus. Our tour guide also let us know that future projects will include a chefs table experience and rental cabins.
We were then shown to our table and greeted by our server who explained the tastings and menu. We loved the details- the menu, the table setting, ceramics made with soil from the farm, the "toolkit" cutlery, and the decor. Each team member we met was attentive, friendly, and seemed excited about the farm. Our server Kristin was so knowledgeable and set a great tone for the tasting.
Our meal included a delicious bread (they will mill on property in the future) with a tomato spread and honey butter. Our garden snacks included Virginia peanuts, marinated olives, carrot soup, and an eggplant salad/hummus. Every bite felt special. The weekend we visited they were offering a special, Mangalista Terine. This is from the hogs (the Wagyu of pork) they keep on the property, what a treat it was.
The black label Gamay was a standout. We were blown away by this wine. We joined the wine club and took a bottle home with us. There is a card in the back of your menu that allows for easy sign-up.
Reservations are booked through the end of the year and we can see why, the hype is real. We're excited to watch what Burnt Hill Farm...
Read moreFrom the moment you arrive at Burnt Hill Farm Winery, it’s clear you’re somewhere special. Nestled on rolling hills that feel pulled straight from a postcard, the land itself is alive with intention—regenerative, radiant, and deeply respected by those who care for it.
The design of the winery is a masterclass in balance: rustic and refined, modern yet timeless. Natural wood, stone, and clean lines guide your eye through open spaces that invite both conversation and quiet reflection. Every corner seems thoughtfully curated to showcase not only the wines, but the story of the land and its stewards. And speaking of stewards—the staff here are next-level. Warm, deeply knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do, they don’t just pour wine; they create an experience. Isaac, in particular, was phenomenal. His storytelling, his care in every pour, and his innate ability to connect made the visit feel personal, not transactional. You can tell he loves this place—and by the end of the visit, you will too.
This is more than a winery—it's a living, breathing love letter to the land, and every sip, every bite, every moment here deepens your appreciation for it.

Read moreThe Baker family and team have done it again. Burnt Hill Farm is a magical place, thoughtfully planned and built to honor the land and share its gifts. From the moment we drove into the farm, we felt transported to another time and place. Carefully cultivated vines surrounded us. The tasting room and two other buildings blend seamlessly with the land around them, while grasses and plants are allowed to grow wildflower meadow-style. Inside the tasting room, no detail is left unaddressed. The view is spectacular. The service made us feel very cared for and the food and wines we tasted are a testament to the patience and creative brilliance of the team. However, although the food, wines, service and atmosphere are elevated, we felt totally at home and comfortable, just as if we were part of the family. That's the magic of this place and the original winery, Old Westminster. The experience is simply the best, and I look forward to making more beautiful memories...
