My friend and I visited the park to experience Float Your Boat Tubing. The park is super clean and has a really nice pavilion for large group parties. There are also picnic tables across the grounds. No BBQ grills though and the tables are not surrounded by any shade trees. So it's hot lol. Float your boat is owned and operated by a husband and wife team. They are super nice, funny, and knowledgeable about the river. They tell you everything you need to know so that you have a fun safe experience. There are places along the river where you can stop and swim or just hang out for a while. You can't rent their floats or bring your own. Either way, they will air up the floats for you. So you don't have to worry about that. I recommend purchasing a floatable cooler. The trip is around two hours and it's hot. Plus you can stop along the way and have a snack and a drink if you want. Parking is limited though so get there early or you're going to have to park somewhere else and walk. It's not a fun walk either lol. I highly recommend the park. If you don't want to float. You can still go down and swim. If you have kids, just keep in mind there are other adults or young adults out there that drink and they don't always watch the things they say. Just a heads up on that. The park is also dog friendly. I recommend a life vest for your dogs and your kids. The current can be pretty strong. Especially in some places. I didn't get photos this go ...
Read moreExtremely dangerous to swim here! I used to make memorial bracelets for the military and I made many in memory of a fit soldier who recently died at the corner near the bridge because of a very strong hidden undertow. His friend barely survived. I used to go here for years with my kids (before I learned of the danger) because I wasn’t familiar with alternatives for swimming, like Kentucky Lake. Aside from the deadly risk, when the weather is nice the park is overcrowded, with almost no parking, loud music, trash absolutely everywhere. My kids and I spent a lot of time picking up trash. Bottles, diapers, cans, wrappers. A not insignificant portion of people that go here just have no sense of civic duty. Sad because when it’s clean, and quiet, it can be...
Read moreGreat spot for family picnics and gatherings. There are clean restrooms, a shaded pavilion area near the restrooms, a nice sized playground and basketball courts. There's also a bridge you can walk across to go to West Creek Coyote Trail if you're interested in a little hiking. There are a few areas by the creek where the rocks are flat and you can set up chairs under the trees. Water is refreshing and there's a rope swing as well as another spot for jumping off into the water. Definitely wear some type of water shoe. There are rocks, tree roots and the rocks are slippery in some areas. If you have someone willing to pick you up at the end and take you back to your car or droo you off/pick you up, it's a blast to float...
