Definitely one of the most unique falls I've ever been to. The biggest issue most have is that if the creek is low enough for a car or non 4 wheel drive to pass then the falls will likely be dry or just a drip. Unless you take the north side route, which is difficult to find and a full hour out of your way. The day I went this was not an issue as the creek was high and the falls were flowing well. I drive a 6" lifted Wrangler, so after watching a basically stock 4Runner cross we plowed through. For anyone wanting the wash photo op, do yourself a favor and push the little button on your dash to close off outside air. I stopped mid falls for one of my pics and water forced itself thru my vents and began pouring into my floorboard. No big deal, just something that could have been avoided. Also watch for other traffic as one you cross the creek the road becomes very narrow for 2 vehicles to pass in...
Read moreRoad wasn’t marked at all so fortunately I had a great map that showed me where it was. Has to cross an incredible bridge (pictured ) immediately prior (coming from the south) and the turn for the road is immediately after it. I was looking for it but missed it and had to go back. Got going down the road and was quite a ways. There were a couple of boondocking spots that were cool! And then there was the low water bridge that was in flood so we couldn’t get across it. No warnings that might have said this could happen (there was at Haws Creek but not here) and that goes along with the no markings for the street (County Rd 2881) and no signage that Car Wash Falls was on this road. Still, another beautiful drive in Arkansas. Was looking forward to this unique waterfall but as life as it - it was not to be...
Read moreThe location itself is nice, but I don’t think it's the best choice. If you don't have a vehicle with sufficient clearance, I would advise against going there. The road leads over a water rental area, which can be risky because you might damage the underside of your car.
Be cautious about visiting during October or November, as there may not be much water at that time. If you're looking to see more water, I recommend waiting until after winter, perhaps in spring, when the levels are higher. Overall, it's okay, but the...
