Christian county Welcome Center/rest stop in Kentucky is a very pleasant place to take a trip from the road! This welcome center has a gorgeous grassy area with tons of picnic tables and plenty of shade everywhere around the main building which is a charming pillared brick enclosure that's temperature controlled with the restrooms and a couple small museum displays. You can also pick up some Kentucky pamphlets and brochures and magazines to get the scoop on what's going on in Kentucky.

The restrooms are clean and well stocked with toilet paper hand soap and hand dryers. Outside there is another red brick enclosure that has vending machines with snacks and beverages some of the beverage machines only accept credit cards and the snack machines except vending except credit cards and cash.

There is also a an area to grill out with a charcoal barbecue if you brought some of your own barbecue tools and charcoal along! What a excellent idea for a break from driving take a break to barbecue! There's a pet relief area separate from all of the picnic and shaded area thanks for an excellent place to stop and stretch see...

Stopped by this center with my family. My husband is a disabled veteran and had his service dog with him. The service dog is well marked. Employee behind the counter was extremely rude. Demanded service dog be removed from building, my husband went so far as to show his service dog id and still he said sign on door says no dogs get out. I explained to him that him being a service dog he is allowed to be with my husband at all times. Told him it is illegal to not allow a service dog. He told me " I am done talking to you, stop talking!" I asked for supervisor information and he walked away. We left and won't go back. Everyone else was kind...

8/10/2025 Didn't meet anyone that worked here but the grounds were still very clean. Everything was stocked. Still a nice rest area

2022 This rest area is one that I frequent often, when going to East TN. I stopped Makayla to ask some questions. She was so helpful, kind, courteous, funny and all around amazing!!! If you see here when stopping there, tell her what a great job she is doing!!! She even allowed me to take a picture of her and asked my granddaughter to be in it with her. She has a beautiful personality and the state is lucky to have her working here. I hope they realize that. Makayla, thank you for making our trip...

Nice, bigger than you average rest stop with plenty of room to walk around. Clean with lots of brochures, make sure you grab a state road map of course. I remember one time they had a guitarist at the main entrance strumming tunes, a pleasure after I-24 traffic chaos. Only downside is men's room hand dryer...sounds like a jet engine taking off. (Great at drying hands, hard on the eardrums, earplugs needed)
