Absolutely gorgeous waterfalls. Nothing like I’ve seen before. Glad we went however. A lot of downsides. One is the road you take. It’s a dirt road and really only fits one vehicle. We went in fall when there wasn’t a lot of lake traffic so I can only imagine in the summer. There was only enough parking for 3 vehicles. The walk up was a bit strenuous with roots of the trees everywhere. Some mud and slippy spots as you get closer to the falls but the #1 thing that personally bothered me the most was I got extremely dizzy from the trail. The part you walk on is tilted, so you are looking down so you don’t trip on a tree root and when you look up it can be tricky. Like those tilted gravity houses you go in for fun. That’s how it felt. I had to stop several times and hold onto a tree. You can’t not look down and the trail is completely tilted I’d say by 40degrees and so your head wants to balance you but your feet are doing something different lol idk just beware. Bc you don’t want to fall down off that trail. Ouch. It was pretty chilly as we got to the falls. Big temp difference from the road. At least 10 degrees I’d say. I would of gave this 5 stars if the parking accessibility and hike was better. Very glad we went. It’s not like any falls in...
Read moreIt’s really a great falls. Short easy hike. The only thing I’ll mention is while it’s been made clear not to climb the rocks, when we were there a kid managed to get up to the top through what seemed like a “side trail” to the left of the falls. So I thought I’d do this myself and it seemed safer than climbing the actual rocks. There does seem to be a “trail” that seems to lead to the top. But I just want to warn folks not to do it. I managed to get close to the top, and as the closer you get the more the “trail” sort of seems to go away and the angles seem to get quite treacherous. On the way back, I lost the trail and it’s easy to become panicked but I managed to make it back down. Luckily, there were at least plenty of trees to grab onto. But I felt like if I had lost it in some areas I could have ended up possibly flying out into the falls from the left as you look up. Just wanting to warn people to be careful out there. It’s a bad feeling to be in a spot where you feel you might be...
Read moreGreat little hike with spectacular falls!
It's hard to believe that this gem is just off the road. We loved riding along the lake and checking out the lake houses she lake views. Parking is limited, but it wasn't busy when we arrived. We went on a Friday around 5pm.
Easy and short hike. Just watch your footing, with the steps and roots, like you would on any hike. The hike back is very pretty itself and we could feel the cool breeze coming off the falls.
The falls were stunning! There wasn't as much water as I had seen in pictures, as it's been a dry August, but that allowed for us to use the dryer rocks to get some spectacular pictures.
As mentioned, not a great idea to climb on the rocks. They are very slick. If you're feeling particularly brave and it's dry, there is almost a little path on the right of the falls that you can take to get...
