Part of the Chattahoochee National Forest that is some 750,000 acres (3039 square kilometers) and for reference, the State of Rhode Island is only 4000 square kilometers), I managed to get here just in time for sunrise. With only a couple of cars going past, it was very quiet and very peaceful. I really lucked out with the timing.

There is parking here, a couple of benches (wet with morning dew) and a graffiti-covered nearly illegible caption. This space (and the forest) is managed by the US Department of Agriculture Forest Service. And thank you for...

What a beautiful view! This scenic overlook caught me by surprise coming around a corner in the North Georgia mountains. I had a sandwich in the truck and decided to stop and finish it, was pleasantly surprised! Plenty of parking for bigger rigs and a few benches to sit on and enjoy the view. There are a couple of plaques that describe the area and it's history. Was nice to stretch the legs and take in the INCREDIBLE view! Definitely recommend. I just wish there would have been a trash bin to throw my sandwich...

Nice spot to stretch out after a long ride. Nice view. Someone got bit by a rattle snake nearby. Sheriff and perimedic said that they were going to land a helicopter there. 9/30/23 this time another biker had a tire go flat. Let them use my hot spot to get them some help on the way. I wonder how often county or wardens get by here daily. Never know what could happen. But it's always a pleasure coming here. Good view as always. Some idiots decided to throw a bunch of trash over the bank. First time I've...
