LANDRAM WAS ONE SWEET SINCERE WOMAN/I HAD THE PLEASURE OF VISITING HER AT THIS RANCH/SHE WASN'T TO CHIPPER ABOUT HAVING TO MOVE /BUT SHE WAS ALWAYS HAPPY/JUST BEING HERE...MORE TRIVIA...WE NEED CAMPING and R.V. ACCOMMODATIONS... AROUND THE LAKE...ESPECIALLY IN THIS LOCATION/ CLEAN UP CLEAR LAKE AS PROMISED... HAVE IT DREDGED...MAYBE THE EEL RIVER PROJECT...NOW THAT WOULD BE FANTASTIC...IF WE GOT THE BID...THIS WOULD CLEAN UP OUR LAKE/IN TURN IT WOULD BRING A LOT MORE REVENUE TO OUR COUNTY... Read moreWeekday parking situation. Can only park on the overbuilt street off the highway, where there is NO MARKED SHOULDER or even a sign saying it's ok to park on the street. Neither parking in the park's lot nor along the park's own entrance road/driveway is allowed. The drivers on Anderson Marsh Parkway are not particularly attentive as they careen 30+ mph down the overly wide -- yet curving -- road. Even the public transit mini-bus driver was speeding (and not positioning his vehicle's path to avoid parked cars).
If park administration wants to keep people away from the barnyard buildings when they aren't staffed, fine, build a fence and gate close to the buildings and lock it when unattended. I was there for the trails anyway. But having no sign where to park (so that I was constantly worried about getting towed while parked on Anderson Valley Parkway), or even a simple white line marking the shoulder made for a stressful, unwelcoming experience. Read moreLovely little historic state park with flat, easy hiking trails. We came in the morning to try to beat the heat and found street parking easily outside the gate. It costs $4 to park inside the lot, which also has a port-a-potty restroom and a little more shade. Plenty of picnic tables near the historic lot, but I would watch where you sit.
