My experience at Ace and Junebugs was somewhat ok! See I’m from Georgia and I know barbecue. My pull pork sandwich combo with baked beans and potatoe salad was subpar but yet eventful! I gave a 2-star bc my man Ace was cool and the sauce was sweet as honey, but the overall meal was not hitting like the usual taste of a down home bbq joint! The beans were a maple sweet with no condiments in them like onions, bell peppers etc. And the potatoes salad was sweet too with a mild crunch of onions but I guess that’s my fault bc I don’t eat onions in my potatoes salad and I should have asked were they in there! And the pull pork was dry pork meat drizzled in a sweet tomato based sauce, so my expectations were a little let down being I was wanting to be “wowed” from these previous comments I was reading! We got “real deal” “no frills”” “side of the road” BBQ from Ace and Junebug’s Homestyle BBQ and Seafood in Clearwater. Saturdays and Sundays they have Oxtail which was tender and excellent. We also did the 3 Meat which i picked ribs, brisket and sausage. What to expect? - amazing smoked flavor and cooked to perfection. Oxtail is tender and fall off the bone( tender like pot roast). The ribs also fell off the bone. The brisket, although little fatty, had great flavor. The sausage snapped and had a smokey/ spicy kick. We tried the greens - my friend said they were one of the best he has had. The mac and cheese. Again excellent! They had two sauces we tried - regular and spicy. I preferred the kick of the spicy.
