Cooper's Bayou Park WAS a wonderful park to have near our neighborhood prior to December & January 2023 & 2024. Duck hunters started shooting before dawn, just feet from the park, condos, homes, bike/walk path along Bayshore Boulevard. We used to launch our canoe along with friends in kayaks at the park in winter as it's cool and crisp with no mosquitos. The gunshots were too close to us. It was uncomfortable to even walk near the park or around the lake with the hunters blasting near us. The Best Dam Race was spared as Bayshore Boulevard was closed before dawn, and the boat launches were...

Cooper's Bayou Park, a small park nestled in Clearwater, Florida, offers a serene retreat for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. This picturesque park spans across 12 acres along the tranquil shores of Cooper's Bayou, providing visitors with a scenic backdrop for leisurely strolls and wildlife observation. The park boasts a diverse ecosystem, including lush mangroves, towering trees, and vibrant wetlands. With amenities such as walking trails while enjoying recreational activities and peaceful moments by the water's edge. "Wheels yield to Heels" that was a new...

This park is on Tampa Bay. You can bike, walk, run, canoe, kayak, bring your pets and enjoy an incredible view. You may see an otter, dolphin, Manatee, sting ray, lots of other fish and amazing birds if you take advantage of all you can do in the Bay. No boat launch from here, just a canoe/kayak launch. Highly recommended. A couple miles up the road is Philippe Park if you're looking for a boat launch or playground. But this is park is the perfect spot to not be bothered with crowds and still have...

Small park dominated by a pond. A walking trail surrounds the pond that is lined with soft stem bull rash and golden cannas. I've never seen more than one (5 foot) alligator at a time but advise owners of small dogs to pay attention. At dusk/dawn that gator likes to cross the trail. If you are not too loud you can see a wide variety of herons. The adjacent mangrove stand offers relaxed paddling adventures through the bayou including several Mangrove tunnels.
