Cooper's Bayou Park WAS a wonderful park to have near our neighborhood prior to December & January 2023 & 2024. Duck hunters started shooting before dawn, just feet from the park, condos, homes, bike/walk path along Bayshore Boulevard. We used to launch our canoe along with friends in kayaks at the park in winter as it's cool and crisp with no mosquitos. The gunshots were too close to us. It was uncomfortable to even walk near the park or around the lake with the hunters blasting near us. You may see an otter, dolphin, Manatee, sting ray, lots of other fish and amazing birds if you take advantage of all you can do in the Bay. No boat launch from here, just a canoe/kayak launch.
