This lake is one of the reasons I choose to move to Cleburne. It such a nice community lake and very beautiful.
You can go boating, play volleyball, picnic and go swimming (water shoes highly recommended). There are so many shade areas on a hot day and many lovely spots to sit. The city has done so well at maintaining it; they mow regularly and clean up trash.
They have trash bins around the lake area and portable potties as well. The scene is so beautiful especially sunrise and sunset. If you like to watch planets and starts (summer and winter are best times) go to the lake!! On clear days you can still see a lot. One July I could see Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Mars quite distinctly.
They also have events here. The 4th of July being a big one. Call the Chamber of Commerce if you want more privacy or less children. You can buy affordable spots in the golf area. They have food, a large balcony, restrooms, and more. The kids CANNOT swim though and can only run around the grassy golf areas.
You can bring your own chairs on these days. The drive to the lake is very straightforward. Please be respectful of the residents and of the town of Cleburne...

There is a designated area that has buoys maked for swimming but you can swim all along the side. The lake is really good for tube riding and skiing as long the weather doesn't make the...
