We had a good visit and enjoyed the layout and variety they had HOWEVER... 🤣🤣 if you have your kids do the scavenger hunt, only have them do it for fun, not for the "prize". We spent over an hour doing the scavenger hunt and my son was so excited to get one of the rocks/minerals as a prize upon completion.

When he handed it in, he literally got to have 2 shavings of rocks (see picture) 🤣🤣 he was a good sport and didn't say a word about it even though we were all thinking there was no way that was the rock he got after the picture they show with the scavenger hunt paper (I could tell his excitement was completely deflated). He selected his "rocks" and said thank you. I bought a few for him to make up for it since the ones he got were literally the size of nail clippings 🤣 we joked about it in the car to lighten up his disappointment.

Besides that, he brought in his own rock collection to even compare what we saw vs what he had, and enjoyed our time. The picture shows the 2 small shavings he got as his prize 🤣 one box of his collection is behind that under my hand. You can definitely find bigger stones in a driveway or beach for a prize so again, scavenger hunt is only for fun.

I also can't get behind some of the science/history of some of the fossils given it comes only from an evolution theory and old earth, and I believe in a biblical worldview and young earth.

So...

The Bob Campbell Geology Museum may not be a “kids museum” but there are plenty of kid-friendly activities there! Kids LOVE rocks!! There are at least 10 “touch tables” full of minerals and fossils that kids and adults can handle. My 4 year old LOVES the magnetic mineral table and the one where you use a magnifying glass to search for fossils. They also have occasional family-oriented events that my daughter loves! She got to paint her very own fossil fish t-shirt, and had a dinosaur painted on her face! They also have an array of dinosaur toys and books that my daughter loves so much. It's a gem of a place for both adults and children. I highly recommend this spot for a fun and educational experience for...

My daughter absolutely loves this museum. We are regulars to the Bob Campbell Geology Museum. Incredibly comfortable and plenty of educational exhibits and materials available for the curious and inquisitive mind. Fossils, tools, gems, and even an ultraviolet mineral room that is sure to wow children and adults alike. There is a gift shop attached to the museum as well that may interest all parties involved.

This museum is located on the South Carolina Botanical Gardens grounds which is honestly the most peaceful place in the entirety of Clemson. You can easily spend all day here and the best part about it is that entrance to both the Gardens and Geology...

This small museum was packed with incredible rocks, minerals, and fossils. Our favorite was the cave with the glowing rocks. They also have a fun scavenger hunt which allows kids to have hands on engagement with some of the exhibits to answer a series of science related questions. We spent about 2 hours there but I could have easily spent another hour reading all of the information in the displays. Definitely will come back when we visit the area. This attraction is free so if you are on a tight budget you can still take your children to see some high quality exhibits.
