Great little loop through the lowlands - easy difficulty and basically all through woods so you get protection from the sun. Can also be accessed from the nearby picnic area Definitely pack bug spray during the warmer months, there are swampy areas prone to flooding and a breeding ground for bugs. But you get some nice boardwalk section. Trailhead has small parking area

Small pull off with a few parking spots near the trail head. The trail is nice and shady, but there are a lot of mosquitoes so bring bug spray. Easy going, definitely not a challenging path. The trail goes through a swampy area and part of it was too wet for us to get through so we didn't compete the whole loop.

Very easy trail to follow, flat and well-marked. It hadn't rained for weeks when I went, so bugs and flooding were non-existent, but there were several low sections, so I can see how easily it would flood, as other reviewers have mentioned. The trail was not busy and very close to the beach.

Great spot for trails, fishing, and swimming on the beach, off of Lake Michigan . My cousin lives in Traverse City, and she's 10 minutes from the beaches of Lake Michigan , but we went about 30 minutes from her place for a little peace and tranquility and this area was it for us. It's not as crowded as it is in town during the Cherry Fest. We will definitely go back...

We went around clockwise and couldn’t make the loop in early November because the water was too high on several bridges. A notification at the trail head would have been appreciated. We couldn’t see the lake- there is a small trail leading from the picnic table area into the trail. Lovely scenery, but wish we could have made it all...
