In this time, adjustments need to be made. Compassion needs to rule first. I am disabled and severely immunocompromised, your business would not allow me to use my EBT card during curbside pickup and stated I would need to go inside the store to use it (which would risk my life). I am young and deserve to live a long healthy life. I already am unable to work and my entire life has been flipped upside in the worst ways. The lack of compassion and decency for the disabled and chronically ill is vile. This world is getting a wake up call NOW to become kinder, gentler, more aware and empathic humans.
Eastern market allows you to write the PIN number on paper or just tell the person and THEY punch it all in.
Other stores take it over the PHONE!
I understand this doesnāt follow the ārulesā - but these people can go to sleep at night knowing they arenāt part of the problem. Not one of the 5 women coming out to load cars was wearing a mask.
The produce I received was OUTRAGEOUS prices - I was wondering why my bill was almost $100 for a medium size box of food. Well, 3lb bag of potatoes was $7, i was charged over $9 for red onions, $9 for carrots, and many other similar high prices for just simple produce. (No, you canāt ask for pricing, bc the answer is āI donāt knowā and the woman behaved in such a rushed, anxiety ridden, dramatic way, that you couldnāt ask much at all because she was about to explode).
I am even more disgusted. Iāve been shopping here for years, I will NEVER come back to your store again. Your morals are...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePlaced a pre-order for a PRIME rib for NYE. Picked it up and it is the inferior select grade, at prime prices. Apparently they disregarded my original order thinking that I was not going to notice the inferior grade. If I wanted inferior meat, I would have gone to the grocery store. Iām sure they know what theyāre doing, but if a customer orders prime rib you donāt sell them select grade- because, well, thatās not prime rib now is it? Itās merely a rib roast, which could be purchased anywhere for a lesser price.
**Update in reply to manager response: Red holiday flyer given with my roast clearly states āHeflingās Own Boneless Prime Rib Roastā
ā The āPrimeā in Prime Rib has always referred to the grade and quality of the beef. If it is not āPrimeā grade beef, it is not Prime Rib. It is simply a (standing) Rib Roast. This is blatantly misleading as what I received was ungraded Mexican imported beef. Certainly, I will not expect the quality marbling and juiciness I have come to expect from high-quality beef. We will see how it cooks, but it will be a shame to replace a classic restaurant-quality NYE Prime Rib meal with an inferior cut of ungraded Mexican...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFantastic place, so proud it is part of the Mt clemens community. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Great products and very good prices. Products are far superior to any chain grocery store. However, Detroit's east side is a fantastic place for high quality food. With competition like Randazzo, Nino salvagio's and Vince and Joe's it is a very tough market. The regular meats chicken and pork are as good as these or better. The specialty items are fun and different. They do not really sell the regular big steaks that I am used to. I still go to the big Italian stores for those. However, the grass fed steaks (not their regular beef) are fantastic. Very trim, does not have a lot of marbling, so do not only error cook. But if you like rare/blue steak this is the best. I actually treat it like sashimi grade tuna and just sear on each side leaving the middle raw. Slice thin with salt, cracked pepper, drizzle of very good olive oil...
