Went here with the family for a day at the beach. We brought our dog which complicated things. No dogs on the sand. We set up base in the BBQ area. Lots of loud competing music, lots of idiots, cursing, f-this and N-that. People smoking weed, etc. No enforcement. Didnโt seem to be a great setting for for the kids and defiantly not relaxing by any stretch. As for the beach, the sand was nice, and a nice volleyball court, but such a small marked off area to swim and not sure it was over 4โ deep. Kind of a shame with such a big lake. A floating dock or slides would be great but I guess thatโs to much to ask with insurance and legal stuff. As with all state parks, lots of โnoโsโ. No floats, no balls, no dogs, no fun. ย ย ย Read moreOne of the most beautiful places to visit in North Jersey. The water is so clean and fresh. It's like going to a mountain area in another state out Midwest. People come to lay out and swim, and come hang with their dogs as well. I've seen many people with kayaks here and it looks so fun. I'll definitely be back again, I travel about an hour to get here each time and it's worth it. They have different parks within the reservoir. One of the most beautiful place in New Jersey, I highly recommend avoiding the public area, as it gets fairly busy during peak hours, and instead enjoy one of their many hiking trails. Do remember that it is a carry in - carry out park. so please bring a bag to carry your trash in.
