Apparently they only have rules for a select few. First time at this location. I have stayed in many parks all with their pro and con list. This one was the worst. These kids who are very much kids arrived with adults who left them there unattended for extended periods of time. Then assuming the adults were there at night they were not supervising these kids. I feel sorry for the people camping close to them. They we’re running up and down the street until at least 2am. I stayed one letter over and could still hear them through the woods. They were running around the restrooms playing in the sinks. Screaming and running through other people camp sights. We were hoping for a nice peaceful weekend but ended up listening to kids fight and scream all night the entire weekend. Trip completely ruined. When we return to this area it definitely wont be to this camp grounds. Why have rules if they don’t apply? Signs state there are people and tent limits and designated quiet times. I suggest dawson lake over this one. Certain noises you must over look when being outside. Un supervised children aren’t on that list. Not once did i hear an adult tell them to be quiet calm down or go inside. Camping is not an excuse to neglect your children and 2am is not play time. This was in I section we were in H around midnight we went over to see what was going on as one of the kids made noises as if they were being killed. They weren’t they just thought it funny to yell for help. She couldn’t of been...
Read moreThis is a great park. The sites are huge and are gravel and level. Most sites around the lake have walking paths to the lakes edge, however they’re not always an easy walk. The marina is nice and there is a beach there for a small fee. I think the beach should be free for paying campers but it’s only a few dollars extra. The shower houses are fair. They are very dated, but pretty clean. The roads are paved but narrow and there is a bike path thru the main part of the park. The lake is very large and there is no horsepower limit. This makes using any non motorized boats fairly treacherous. We were there to kayak, but we could only go on the north fork of the lake which is a bit of a drive from the campground. The north fork is choked with lily pads so kayaking the entire thing is impossible. It wasn’t even feasible to walk the kayaks around the lily pads as it was just too far. However, the first part of the fork is beautiful and calm. The campground had 3 actual camp hosts which is a great asset. We liked it here and probably will...
Read moreBeen coming here for 20+ years. It used to be an awesome place that wasn't very crowded. Now, it's always full, the shower houses are gross, and the outhouses are borderline unusable. You would think that with all the revenue from the place being full all the time they would be able to update the facilities. None of the shower or bath facilities have been updated in at least 25 years. The docks used to be nice, and there were bridges on the trails, but now everything is falling apart. It's really sad, since they seem to be busier than ever. Also the swim area at the beach is smaller than it used to be. The water is only waste deep, last year it was shoulder deep. I will be looking elsewhere for my camping trips from now on. Now 2025, and it's been at least 30 years since the shower houses have been updated. They smell horrible, and the showers barely work. Have you guys ever heard of bleach? The outhouses are just plain scary, I couldn't imagine having to sit down in there. The wooded sites are nice, but be prepared for some...
