A little over a month ago my team and I along with a couple of our friends booked the Indiana Sanatorium for a private overnight paranormal investigation with the additional lodging rooms in the commercial building. It was a chilly night, but having the ability to warm up in the commercial building between sessions was greatly appreciated.
The commercial building was overall very clean with new mattresses and furnished beds in each of the lodging rooms. It was extremely nice to have multiple bathrooms within the building as well as a large kitchen area and a couch. There was a merchandise area and even a shelf with items for sale that were found on property (which I nearly bought half of, they were all so cool!). The heat in that building was a HUGE bonus and truly saved our night.
Every single person we talked to from Ady with the initial booking process, to Gregg and Steve, who met us to give the initial tour and answer our plethora of questions about the amazing property and share their passion with us, to Sam who was there to assist us the following morning and was gracious enough to show us around some bonus areas, were some of the friendliest and most welcoming people we’ve come into contact with along our journeys.
It was very convenient to drive our vehicles right up to whichever building we wanted to investigate! We had activity in EVERY single building we investigated, but our most active area of the entire night was the cafeteria so we spent a lot of time in there.
The timeframe for the cost and size is in and of itself worth the drive for us from central Wisconsin, but the kindness, comfortability, and abundant activity makes it an easy decision for us to book again in the future.
Huge thank you’s to everyone who is involved and working so hard to preserve these historic buildings and share them with the world, we can’t wait to see how it grows over the...
Read moreIncredible experience. I love abandoned structures, but this is the largest scale prooerty I have ever explored. I am not a professional, no YouTube channel, and not a ghost hunter. I went there as a simple tourist with a love of history. The property is definitely not wheelchair accessible, and you have to sign a liability waiver due to the condition of most of the structures. There are areas of floor, ceiling, and walls in complete disrepair, and you do need to be extremely careful. It's a dream come true if you love abandoned places with a lot of history. My daughter and I were not ghost hunting, just sightseeing, but experienced things that we never expected or thought would happen. A couple things to note, were that my daughters phone turned off by itself, and my phone battery drained completely from 32% to 0% as I just finished telling my daughter I should have enough battery to complete the last structure seconds before. That has never happened with my phone in the past. Surprisingly, these were far from the most substantial things that we experienced while there, and we had MANY unexplainable things occur while we were there during the daytime that we never expected or were even looking for. I won't go into detail about the other things because most people honestly wouldn't believe what I would have to say. But whether you are there looking for ghosts, have a love of abandoned decaying structures, or just want to walk through a place with its fair share of dark history, I can't see how you wouldn't walk away from this place feeling fulfilled, nor will you ever forget it. And you might want to bring a...
Read moreWoah….👀 one of the CREEPIEST, COOLEST places I’ve ever been to. Just thinking about it and looking back through my photos makes my skin crawl! I definitely felt uneasy while there and the atmosphere inside this place is SO intense you can almost feel that there are spirits, or other unnatural beings present from the moment you step food inside! Now I was NOT looking to have an interaction while in there but more interested in the history, the stories and the endless rooms that each had its own distinct aura! I am SO glad I took the day time your because there was no way I’d be able to stand inside the place at night in the dark. As it is in the daylight while some areas are flooded with natural light other rooms do not have windows and are completely dark inside! Needless to say I didn’t dare go into those! But got some very cool pictures from what I did see. I would recommend this to anyone who is into dark, creepy, scary, spooky places. OR anyone who is into Historical places. One other thing to note: this place is massive and includes several buildings to tour. Some are in really rough exterior and interior shape and are so dilapidated and must use extreme caution and care when entering! I DO NOT recommend this place to someone that cannot walk on uneven surfaces and or probably not for the faint of heart! But it made the perfect place to take pictures, walk around ourselves in and out of each building, and learn more about the history from the...
