Blue Rock Winery — Attraction in Cloverdale

Wow wow wow! What an absolutely incredible experience we just had. We did a private tour/tasting with Jeff and every detail of our visit was perfection. We got to walk into the vineyard and ask tons of questions. Jeff was so knowledgeable and easy to talk to and spoke about the wines in a way that was easy to understand and appreciate all the flavors. After we tasted two whites while walking around the property, we did a seated tasting with the reds. The food pairings were spot on and brought out flavors in wines I've never been able to name before. Honestly I could go on and on, but this was one of the best tours I have ever done from wineries to breweries to distilleries and now I want to bring friends and family back. Had the pleasure of staying with Kenny at Bluerock Vineyards for a weekend get-away. He personally gave us a tour of the grounds, which was the most hands-on tour of a vineyard I've ever had! We learned how wine is truly made, from start to finish. Then we were treated to a true barrel tasting with the wine-maker who was incredibly funny and hospitable. After that, we strolled the grounds on our way to the bottle tasting. For this tasting, we sat in the rustic living room of the Italian-style Villa built on the property and tasting all Bluerock had to offer. It was great to taste the wine from the vines we just walked through. I'd recommend the Reserve Cab or the Baby Blue if you have to choose, but try them...

We got to walk into the vineyard and grounds, the beautiful rooms, and ask tons of questions. Everyone was so knowledgeable and easy to talk to and talked about the wines in a way that was easy for someone like me who doesn't know wine well. Their wines are some of the best wines, I even had some shipped because I wanted to have them at home! I loved their Pinot Noir, just do smooth and full of flavor.
