This is the entrance to the Big Slough recreation area. There's a 2.5 km hike here with 3 smaller loops built in. It was the perfect hike for my two kids, both under ten. There are bathrooms, plenty if parking, covered tables, a visitor center and clean bathrooms. The hike was nice we saw turtles and birds. Watch out thoughif youre hiking with kids, there are a lot of active ant hills on the main trail (grass trail) and the wild hogs have torn/muddied up parts of the trail which can be easy to trip on if you're taking pictures and not watching where...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDrove by this place all my life finally stopped by this year. This is a Huge area. After you pass the visitor center you can drive on gravel roadways to view nature in the marshes. I took the auto tour and passed our first exit, and it took a good while to be able to exit the one way auto trail. There are a couple fishing holes, but it is a long journey on the gravel roads. The fishing holes seemed pretty shallow probably best to bring kayak for these waters. This place is best for nature watching. There are many gators to see along...
