I really enjoyed this hike. This trail along with ladder canyon trail form a loop trail. I’ve been wanting to come here for the past two months now. Finally a friend visiting from Irvine for the weekend and we’ve decided to give it a try. It took awhile to get to the trailhead because you have to drive onto the gravel road for another 5 miles to get there. The trail was very easy to start with, but it got more and more challenging as you walk further in. The path got narrower and at couple spot, you had to crawl under a rock. There are five ropes we had to climb to get up to connect to the ladder canyon. Couple of the ropes were half worn and needing repairs I thought. It was a bit dangerous. I definitely would not recommend coming here alone. There’s not much safety features there and if you slip, you’re out of luck! We did not see anyone there on a Saturday morning around 09:30. When we finished the loop trail, we ran into a young couple who just arrived to hike the trail....
Read moreBEWARE you might want gloves, very narrow at times and several spots you nearly need to crawl, you must be physically able and dress accordingly, a few of the short ropes are kinda rough, expect to brush up against the sandstone (can tear some clothes) and you will need to be able to lift yourself up using a rope several times, if you get up past the 20ft rope and you decided you cannot/will not go back down its about a 1.5 hour hike back out so bring...
