The Visitor's Center is a small but interesting place to visit. The Salton Sea seems deserted and isolated as you're driving by. At the center, you see how actually large it is and where there are places to go to that aren't empty Desert fields (lots of dates and other fruit) that surround the sea. They also had an interesting display of the poop of the natural residents so you could recognize if you're near a possible predator. Coyote, bobcat, rattlesnake, local mice and rats, lizard and roadrunner. I laughed at first but realized that it could come in handy if you saw signs of a bobcat.
