So we believe in supporting local businesses. But when they are arrogant and snobby I draw the line. A while back my wife lost her wedding ring after 30 years of marriage. We spent some time looking rings and found one at Clark's we liked. We asked them to hold it for a day so we can further think about it. Called the next day and informed them that would are going to pass as we are contemplating having a new duplicate ring made. The following week we go back in and show them a picture ofthe wedding ring she lost and asked them if they could duplicate it and if so How much. A quote was given and it was much more then what we were expecting so we decided instead of going $8,000.00 in debt that we would take the next 6 to 8 months and save to money so we can pay cash for it. That weekend one of our parents offered her wedding ring from a wonderful man that she was married to for over 40 years. She said she didn't want it to just sit in a jewelry box and would be proud if my wife would wear it even if it was for such a short time till we saved up enough to have her ring made. So the following weekend we head back into clarks all excited to have this ring sized. Here is where the rating of 1 is given. We were asked upon arrival if we needed help. My wife with excitement says yes and explains that she had lost her wedding ring, that we've been shopping for a replacement, realized that we wanted to have her old ring duplicated but upgraded and that we were foing to save money monthly so that we could pay cash for it in about 6 to 8 months but in the mean time we would like to have a ring that was from one of our parents resized so she could wear it in between now and getting the new one made. Here is the answer we were given---I'm sorry but we don't work on jewelry not purchased in our store. WHAT?????????????????? I chime in and ask why? Well, we are so busy with the jewelry we sell from our store that we don't have time to work on stuff not purchased from here. I'm perplexed. I explain again that this is a bridge to a ring we would like to them make for us. Now Jewler Jane hears the conversation and steps in to support her employees statement. I reiterate the situation and am floored by Jewler Jane's response. "Well when your ready to purchase and have us make the ring you want, please come back and see us". ARE YOU KIDDING YOU SNOB You won't resize a ring not purchased from your store to bridge a gap till the new ring can be purchased? But you want me to come back when we are ready to have the new ring made. Now I've been in sales for more years then I want to admitt. Here is what I would have done. Oh I'm sorry about your situation with your wife's lost wedding ring. Yes we would love to re size it for you. Here is what we can do. Leave tour parents wedding ring here ,we will re size it and will be happy to do so if you would put a deposit down on the new ring. But no- it's pretty cut and dry here. If you don't have the cash ($8,000.00) today, get out and leave my store----Bot Oh, please come back when you do have the cash. Never ever will we support you------I hope this review discourages at least 1 person from ever supporting these arrogant people who think they are big people in a small town and better then most. Oh by the way, we have since had a new ring made and it was $3,000.00 less then Clark's...
Read moreVery disappointed and I do not recommended this jeweler to anyone. I'm not going to give you all the background of this story but just the cliff notes. Took a ring to be sized at Clark's for my girlfriend and after 2 weeks and $100 it came back and looked great. My girlfriend was happy as heck and that is all that mattered. Within 3 months all the Rhodium plating that the ring was dipped in was rubbed off and it had cracked exactly where they had cut the band to re-size. Took the ring back in and they said that it is normal for rings to wear off that coating and it's just the way it is. As far as the crack, they said no problem and that they will fix it for free. Everyone is feeling good right about now. Well my girlfriend gets the ring back the other day and I'm just seeing it for the first time today after getting home from work. The pictures below are of the quality that they think is acceptable. Please look close at the pictures. Not only in there a terrible lump of solder on the inside that looks terrible the crack is still present and the Rhodium plating is already rubbing off. This was my Mother's first ring and is over 45 years old and she never had this problem with her jewelry before. Never in all my years have I seen workmanship this poor and the lack of professionalism for items that are special to someone. I would give them 0 stars if I could. Beware and use this business at your own risk. I will be taking the ring to The Jewelry Design Center in Spokane tomorrow and I should of taken the ring to the only Jeweler my Mom trusted when she was alive in the first place. Shame on...
Read moreAfter a disappointing experience at another jewelry store, I came to Clark's looking for a wedding band and a diamond for my ring's center stone. Jane helped me find the perfect ring guard set to be my "wedding band" as well as an affordable and GORGEOUS diamond. She took her time to work with me, and I never once felt rushed or pressured to pick out a band or diamond. She was so educational, especially when it came to picking out the right diamond for my ring. After such a great experience, I was extremely impressed by her professionalism and overall customer service, and knew that I would be giving them my business for anything jewelry-related in the future. But it was what she did after the ring guard and diamond purchase that made me a customer for life. I asked her how much it would cost to have that diamond set in my ring, and she said that she would comp that cost for me. Like I said, I was already so impressed with Jane that to have her do that for me was just icing on top of an already fabulous cake. I just picked up my ring with the new diamond place in it, and it's perfect. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. I will definitely be recommending them...
