Went in to trade games for store credit, was told I needed to show ID after giving name, email and phone number, ran out to vehicle for ID, came back and held up drivers license to let associate look at picture and name to verify account with email, name and phone number already given. Associate took driver license out of my hand without permission and started writing and typing my driver license information. I told associate that this has never been required, and I wasn't comfortable with him documenting my personal information from my drivers license. Associate said everyone gets this done because of thieves stealing from libraries. This remark insinuated that I was a thief. I told the associate that he could easily look up my in store purchase history with name, phone number and email already provided. Associate continued writing/typing my driver license info despite me clearly staring I wasn't comfortable.(Gamestop customer for over 15 years and not once have I experienced having my privacy violated) I told the associate that I didn't appreciate the insinuating remark of comparing me to a thief. The associate said that's too bad because he does this with everyone. I said I didn't appreciate his attitude and that he could stop talking to me at that point. The associate rudely told "Here, take your $11 and he didn't have to stop talking. The entire time, what turned out to be the manager was standing next to this associate watching. I only found out when I asked for the associates manager, and then he spoke up stating he was the manager. I told him I didn't appreciate the disrespect and the attitude of his employee. The manager told me to get out of the store. So I flipped them both off as I made my way to the door. Called their main customer service line, filed a complaint and requested the regional manager contact me. I will be following up with my complaint until it reaches the proper channels and that the employee and manager are held accountable for their attitudes, stereotyping a customer as a thief, lack of customer service and lack of professionalism. I'll never spend another penny at...
Read moreHave not been to GameStop in two years, but will probably not be back again after today. There were two gentlemen working today but the rotund gentleman at the counter has to be among the most pushy, diamissivepeopleI have ever encountered.
I heard that GameStop now sells MTG, so I stopped by to look. As I was looking, the guy asked me if I was looking forward to a UB set and I said im general I dislike those sets. He them proceeded to try and tell me all the great thingsabout it and convince me it is good. I didn't care and just ignored it.
But then when I went up to buy the 20 or so cards, he asked if I wanted the Gamestop membership. I declined, but then he asked again. Again, I said "no". He then kept going and asked ms AGAIN if I wanted it. I said no. He started ringing up the cards and asked for a fourth time if I was interested in paying for a GameStop membership. I finally said "you have asked me four times if I would buy it, and I said no. Please stop asking or I'm leaving." His response was "Then you can just leave."
I should not feel assaulted and berated into buying aomething I don't want that costs more than the items I am looking to buy. This felt like verbal assault, and high-pressure tactics. I can go to any other place to buy MTG and they will happily take my money and not try to force me to bend to their will.
I won't...
Read moreI rate this a 5 because the service is the most excellent out of any GameStop I've ever been to, the customer support is above and beyond really. I wish to take off a star because it is GameStop after all. They have a whole bunch of flak when it comes to resells and returns that it's really just unfortunate to bring any game back because you will see the same exact game you brought back being sold for 10x the amount they payed you for it. The only problem I've ever had ever with GameStop is the return pricing. I understand they have to make money somehow but as a consumer you do see how pointless returning games is. But other than the employees following the rules they make sure that you have everything you need guaranteed. They're awesome here no doubt so they do deserve that 5...
