I have lived here a long time, but never went to the newer park downtown. It is AWESOME. There is quite the area for playing. One area has running water that the kids can run under or through. The play area is pretty big. There is plenty of grass. There are picnic tables under the shade. There's a pavilion or gazebo for birthday parties you can use. We saw a guy flying a little helicopter over by Tubs Hill. It's not far from the parking lot to tables, if walking is a problem. You can see part of the Coeur d' Alene Lake. Across from the park, there's a place that sales food, drinks, and I think alcohol. It's quite pricey, I was told. It's pretty close to the marina/boat parking area. The bathroom area, in the park, looks nice but never went in. Only negative is the machine you pay to park in the parking lot. Diamond's pay machine is very SLOW, in a short time the line can become long. Partly, I think, is because people don't know when you walk up to the machine that you will need your vehicles license plate number. Payment is made by Credit Card, or Debit card. I think the Diamond Company is located in...
Read moreGood park for kids. It has a huge play ground. When we were there, there was 4 boys about 10 years of age throwing a racket ball from one side of slides to the other. Very high chance of hitting another smaller child since it goes over and out and out of sight to the other side. Their mom was to interested flicking her finger across her phone. I can only guess if it was angry birds or fruit ninja she was playing but totally unresponsible. It came to a point where I told the boys to go in the field or they will get into a whole lot of trouble if they hit another child. Lesson here, don't be glued to a phone. Watch her own kids to have a safe park for your kids and others. Don't make other people raise your kids. And for other parents, check the surrounding to make sure it's safe. You never know who's spoiled child can be out there not caring about smaller kids on the...
Read moreOne of our family's most favorite places to go! This park is nestled at the foot of historical Tubbs Hill, adjacent to the gorgeous CdA library and city hall. There's definitely something for everyone here, even the doggos get a separate doggy area to meet their furbuddies for a play date! Also, let's not forget to mention that this beautifully designed park sits next to the CdA marina and Hagadone's one of a kind flagship, CdA Resort! There's also tons of great local shops and restraunts within easy walking distance. Lots of seasonal activities happen here; so chances are there's a concert, foodfest, beerfest, or something else to everyone's liking going on almost every weekend here! Did I mention the fantastic playground, basketball courts, seriously awesome splash pad, clean restrooms, tons of free parking and the occasional pack of wild turkeys...
