This has by far been my best piercings experience ever. My partner wants to get his first piercing, so we checked out Relic Moon to see if they'd be a good choice to handle first time piercing nerves, and I volunteered to let him sit in on one of my piercings to ease said nerves. I've had multiple piercings, through multiple shops, and this was the first time I didn't feel like just another person in the queue. After thoroughly interrogating them on pricing, procedure, piercing experience, and any other questions I had, I booked an appointment. I went in specifically for nipple piercings, explained that I'd had them done before but had a hell of a time healing them and wanted to get them done again in hopes they healed well.
From start to finish, Niles made sure I was comfortable. He gave me time to adjust to having my shirt off in front of a stranger, made sure that old scarring wouldn't interfere, showed me the difference between where my old one were vs where they should've been and how that affected how they healed, explained every step of the way, answered every question I had, and not once did he falter from a professional attitude. At one point, right after the first piercing went in, I rambled about how maybe symmetry isn't that important to me because it hurt so bad. He immediately sat up, moved away from me, and asked if I was serious and would like to stop, voicing that he didn't want to continue without clear consent from me. The entire time in that shop, it felt like I was not only respected, but also catered to. I was given time, patience, and a LOT of options, unlike most (if not all) other shops I've been to.
Not only that, but by the time I was done paying, my partner was also invested in conversation about his options for when it came time to get his. Niles was once again able to take a bundle of nerves and sooth all the worries and answer all the questions. He's phenomenal not just with his work, but also just easy to talk to and understand.
I don't know if I could make myself go anywhere else again, and I'm happy to have found somewhere to handle an (eventual) first...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy goodness, I had such a phenomenal experience. I've waited thirty years for a nose ring and finally took the plunge. NAT was such a sweet soul! He knew I was scared and was so gentle. He had a sense of humor. He was informative. By the end of it all, we were laughing like we had known each other for years. I just can't say enough about this place. Alright, do you want me to break it down? Sure . . .
Ambience- Adorable. Everything from the skull wallpaper, to the framed moths, to the cute purple chairs. Edgy, yet welcoming enough to bring a kiddo.
Sanitation- Flawless. This goes without saying, but still... it's obviously important.
Jewelry selection- SO MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM. Literally two shelves worth. Maybe more? I was getting my nose pierced, so maybe all those other cases were for other body parts? Want a bat wing? Beetle? Moon? A long dangly chain? Checkāthey have it all.
Jewelry placement- PERFECT. Nat nailed it. I can't stop staring (and so can't my husband š).
Aftercare explanation- Nat discussed in detail what to do/ not do. But just in case I wasn't listening, instructions are emailed. How did they know?
Pricing- Incredibly competitive for fine jewelry. I mean, I got a rose gold stud for UNDER 130. Need I say more?
All in all, I had such a great time. If you're on the fence about getting your piercing here, just do it. I wouldn't go anywhere else. š„¹
Update: Just read Relic Moon is APP certified!!!! I didn't have a clue to look for that, but yeah. They are. Just another awesome thing to mention.š©·
Update x2: It's been a couple months now, and I just got a text asking how things were healing. Are you kidding me? What place actually cares? I'm continually blown away by this place. Btw, I'm getting my septum done in the fall....
Read moreIve had nothing but good experience working with Relic Moon. Niles was not my piercer, but has always shown me nothing but the most kind professionalism I've ever seen, answered all my questions and was patient with me while i called again and again about a piece of jewelry Nathan was having made for my piercing. Nathan on the other hand, was also amazing, a real artist in their field. As previously stated Nathan had commissioned their jewelry maker to make some custom flat pieces for a set of surface bars that I was getting, I would not recommend this for those who want more unorthodox jewelry like I did, but Nathan kept on them for the months my order took to make eventually getting my flat disks. After Nathan heated my disks with a crème brûlée torch, and quenched them in grape seed oil to turn them a dark matte black (coolest thing I've ever seen in my life) and sanitized them, we got those puppies pierced. I got two surface bars horizontal across my right eyebrow and that's a very awkward position for the surface bars to be in, so through trial and error i figured out how to properly care for my piercing one of the surface bars had not healed as well as the other did, so i decided to remove it and have it repierced. Yesterday I came into Relic Moon's new beautiful location, sat down with Nathan on an hours notice that i was back in town, arrived a little late, got re-pierced for no charge and walked out the door. From consulting on the piercing in July 24' to repiercing my surface bar in Aug 25', the crew at the Relic Moon has given me nothing but a year of good experience. If I ever need another piercing of any type, I would give pause to the idea of crossing the country if I had to, just to have the piercing...
