World’s Longest Floating Boardwalk!
A must-see when walking around downtown Coeur d’Alene. This unique floating boardwalk wraps around The Coeur d’Alene Resort and its 362-slip marina, offering scenic lake views and a peaceful stroll over the water.
The information sign proudly states:
"Welcome to the world’s longest floating boardwalk! Completed in 1985, the Coeur d’Alene Resort Floating Boardwalk stretches 3,300 feet long, 12 feet wide, and 10 feet deep, featuring a 60-foot-long bridge on the west side. Constructed with 16,000 cedar logs and over 500,000 board feet of lumber, it includes 5 miles of bumper strips".
Unfortunately, in 2025 the southern portion was under construction, so a full loop wasn’t possible at the time of visit. Hopefully it will reopen soon!
If you’re in the area and the weather’s good, it’s definitely worth a visit - just watch your step if the boardwalk...
