World’s Longest Floating Boardwalk! A must-see when walking around downtown Coeur d’Alene. This unique floating boardwalk wraps around The Coeur d’Alene Resort and its 362-slip marina, offering scenic lake views and a peaceful stroll over the water. The information sign proudly states: "Welcome to the world’s longest floating boardwalk! Completed in 1985, the Coeur d’Alene Resort Floating Boardwalk stretches 3,300 feet long, 12 feet wide, and 10 feet deep, featuring a 60-foot-long bridge on the west side. Constructed with 16,000 cedar logs and over 500,000 board feet of lumber, it includes 5 miles of bumper strips". Unfortunately, in 2025 the southern portion was under construction, so a full loop wasn’t possible at the time of visit. Hopefully it will reopen soon! If you’re in the area and the weather’s good, it’s definitely worth a visit - just watch your step if the boardwalk is wet or icy.

This was so cool. It's a long floating boardwalk, supposedly the longest in the world. The more interesting part is the addition of an arch bridge within the boardwalk to allow boats to leave. It nestles the many boats under blue canopy covers. If you only have a few hours or just spending half a day in CDA, recommend doing this walk then walk to Tubbs Hill and enjoy the relatively easy hike. Views for days.

Fun, free, open to anyone. Enjoy the floating boardwalk out on the lake around the marina. There are some benches and picnic tables further out. Not a lot of shelter from the sun but only a 15-20 minute walk all the way around. Boardwalk is a little wobbly from the waves at times.

Can't believe I didn't come across this stop when planning to spend the morning downtown on a long road trip. Nice cool breezes off the water, mahogany boats on display...just be careful with toddlers or if you have balance issues, as the wind or wake from boats causes movement. Take note of the signs at either end of boardwalk for...
