Poor customer service. A man was waiting for help with getting some lumber cut. It took quite a while. He was there when we got to that area (back of the store), he was waiting while my husband went outside (front) to get a lumber cart, and he was still waiting while we loaded sheet insulation onto our cart.
When we realized they had only a half dozen sheets of what we wanted (their website said that they should have almost 70), my husband went in search of a store clerk. I'm not sure where he found him, but by the time they returned, another clerk was helping the other man. The clerk helping us agreed that there should be more available, and took off in search of it. Meanwhile, we started comparing the insulation we had chosen with a different brand and decided that we would like to try it. My husband started off in search of the clerk who was helping us. The other clerk noticed and asked him if he needed help. My husband gave him the short story version of what was happening, and the clerk let us know that there was more sheets on an upper shelf. That worked out great, because it would give us the quantity that we were looking for. The clerk told my husband that he would help us when he was done with his customer. That would be great. We removed the sheets from our cart, placed them back on the shelf, loaded the new sheets on our cart, and waited. Finally, the first clerk returns to let us know that he found the original product. We let him know that we were changing products and that the other clerk was going to get some down from the upper shelf when he finished with his customer. Rather than offering to get the sheets down for us, the first clerk just wanders off.
The other clerk finishes with his customer, then has to go find a set of ladder/stairs to reach the product we need. We get the last of the sheets loaded, then head to the front of the store to check out. Guess what. No clerk operated registers! Only self help registers. We start the check out process, but have difficulty finding a upc bar. We finally find one on one of the sheets at about the time that the clerk who was supposed to watching the self check-outs returns and proceeds to stand there while we ring things up. We finish our sale, then head...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDo yourself a favor and skip the headache of Home Depot for Carpet! From the get go they couldnāt get measurements right. They measured 3 times and they still didnāt get it right ā¦. After they started installing, we were notified that they didnāt order enough carpet. They installed what they had and Home Depot ordered more and assured us that the carpet was going to be from the same dye lot. 2 weeks passed and the carpet finally arrived and had it scheduled for install. The installer came and laid the carpet out and immediately noticed he was shorted carpet to finish the job. He also noticed that the replacement carpet was off a bit in color and texture. Again, we called the Couer D Alene Home Depot about the carpet issue. The store manager didnāt believe me when I spoke to her. I asked for someone from the store to come out and look at the difference. The only thing Home Depot was worried about was who was at fault and how could it be wrong. They didnāt care that this house was being put up for sale and there was a time issue. The installer told them after the first screw up how much carpet was needed and also volunteered to train their measurement team. They obviously refused because they still didnāt send the correct amount of carpet needed. You can see in the pictures the difference in the carpet. We had to go ahead and have the carpet installed anyway because the house was being put up for sale. I told the Home Depot manager we were going to have to replace the carpet. I further asked for compensation of the $700 cost to replace the carpet for all the inconvenience this has caused. The manager told me she could only do $500 and would have to call corporate to do $700. The manager called me a few days later and told me they were only giving me 25% of what it cost to order the carpet for all of the inconvenience. What a joke! A huge company like Home Depot is only worried about who was at fault and could really care less about their customer. Need less to say I will not be shopping...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a customer every single time I've been in to pick up what I've needed for a home project they've had it and when I've had questions about removal, installation, updates, or just general "chit chat" about the project the associates are more than willing to listen and pitch in with their ideas! And when it comes to different options (for anything)......... They have plenty, trust me! I'm always more than willing (I'm a guy) to be sent here when my wife or mother-in-law says something needs to be fixed or replaced in the home.......... I'm easily entertained I guess as to what project runs thru my head to plan out next! As a guy this is clearly one of my most favorite places to shop. Pure and simple folks. I've even seen the ladies in their taken care of the "project shopping"! Hope this greatly helps whoever it can. I'm in no way a professional in any form but as soon as I step thru the entrance sliders man I feel like I can do anything in the world. I've not yet tried the "will call" or the "locker pickup" choice so I'm sorry I can't help out more there. But I am a delivery driver and have pick-up orders to deliver from here and it was my very first time picking up from this company. The Associates are way more than willing to assist me on my first adventure delivering for Home Depot. So whether you're a seasoned professional, a rookie home fixer needing opinions and options or a delivery driver on first pick up here.......... They are more than knowledgeable "friends" willing and wanting to help........ Any way they can! Good luck on your next project and thanks for...
