I was watching friends Ice fishing. I was parked with a nice hot coffee. The main entrance wasn't open but the farthest parking area is. Keep going straight past the main exit is about 30 seconds down the road. Opening day of summer fishing season. Westchester congregational church shows a great fisherman's breakfast. In summer, this location is a little gem. Plenty of parking, there is a moderate size swimming area( they sometimes close the swimming area due to high bacteria in very hot summer weather check Channel 3 news I believe they list closed sites) There is a large covered area for picnicking. It has many picnic tables under it. Multiple free-standing grills grates to cook on. Bring your own utensils and charcoal. It has extensive trails that are good for nature walks and bird watching. There is a resident beaver that is fun to watch. It's all around a nice place for the family to spend the day or you to have a relaxing walk, geo-caching, birdwatching, etc. I can't recall if they have bathroom facilities. But I believe they do. You can check the State...

One local body of water that does accept visitors is the picture perfect Day Pond, in 180 acres of public land.

The pond is named after the pioneering Day family, which impounded the pond to drive an up-and-down sawmill with a waterwheel.

Stone foundations hark back to that time, while the pond is stocked with trout which makes it a favored destination for anglers.

There’s a neat little beach area for swimming in the summer months and overlooking the water close by is a picnic pavilion, with more tables nearby on the east and west shores.

By the water you can step onto the Blue-Blazed Salmon River, which will lead you to the Comstock Covered Bridge on...

Wow that waterfall! Is soooooooo amazing! A must see for sure! There was a couple super extra muddy spots so beware (obviously could’ve been the weather). Some hills up some hills down rocks everywhere and little narrow near bushes. I can’t even tell you which way we went we did the loop down the straight path but then did a little side path to get to waterfall from where we were. There’s great parking signs to get there are easy. It looks like you can even swim there on nice days and they have sand. Fishing looks like it’s great there because there was a...

This is a beautiful spot to hike there's plenty of hiking trails throughout this park they do have a little Beach area but the water has a lot of lily pads and is very mucky. They do have a pavilion here and also porta potties this is a great place to have a picnic cookout or get together with family this is my first time here and I already like it I'm going to come back to check out different trails along the way my dog also loves it here I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you have not already.
