I grew up on this lake and have gotten to watch it deteriorate over the years. The Lake Association Board is a Good Ol' Boy club that often doesn't adhere to their own rulings; the water is filthy due to overuse, or run-off from an overcrowded shoreline full of homes not up to code on septic tanks, or from genuinely inconsiderate skunk milkers letting cleaners or oil or lawn fertilizers drain improperly. People don't clean their props between lakes anymore so more often than not you're throwing craps when you go in the water. One week you could come out itchy, the next you could be itchy with a rash. The weekend warriors never pay attention to anything but themselves, so they'll launch fireworks any day, often well into the wee hours, or they're setting fires during burn bans.

Everyone is super friendly and helpful if there...
