I was with a party of 5 with 4 of the people being their first time there. We had reservations and were so excited about tasting wine and cooking our food. We were immediately disappointed as we were told because of the small attendance and the start of lent we would not be cooking our food but would be served. (I counted 23 people and this was never mentioned when were placed our reservations). The experience started with wine tasting. We were given a 1 ounce cup, which was filled halfway by one server. We chose to taste the Premium wines and that server filled the 1oz. cup all the way up. (So depending on who you get, you could be short changed with the samples that are given). We paid for our meals and then was encouraged to come pick up our salad. They served iceberg lettuce that was limp and brown. We received four croutons, two tomatoes, two sliced cucumbers, a few olives and a teaspoon of onions, for our salad toppings. As we finished our salad, we were asked to come back to the table to pick up our meal, three of the meals were ready and two of the party was left standing and waiting to be served. For $86 (tip included) I felt they could have served us at our table since cooking our own food was not an option. We had Diana as the server and she appeared aggravated. Diana interaction was short, dry, and felt forced. The menu stated they were serving tiger shrimp but when we received our plate it looked more like salad shrimp. When we asked about this we were told, “That’s what they sent us”. We all requested a refund for the shrimp at this time. Three of us had the steak the other two the salmon. I ordered a medium well steak that was served burnt, the vegetables were cooked to mush, and the potatoes clearly came from a box. The manger was called and they did fix more vegetables but I declined the remaking of my steak and asked for a refund at this point. The 5 remaining people in my party received there cheese cake and was sorely disappointed with the poor quality of the dessert as well. All commented it was bland and the portion was more fitting for a small child. We spent $400 collectively and felt cheated. A person in my party drove 3 hours for this event and was cheated the full experience. The restaurant was clean, the service was horrible, and the meal was something anyone could have made at home with the mediocre ingredients. It was an over priced experience that left us knowing we would never return.

We were so excited to try this winery close to home. Upon entering, we checked in and waited for the "wine tasting"which consisted of quickly chugging wine out of cracked plastic shot glasses. Don't like a wine? No problem, just dump it in the communal pitcher and use the same cracked cup to taste your next wine. We had to wait in line for 30 minutes to pay for our dinner. While waiting, we witness the bartender/cashier pour a frozen wine slushee, sniff it with her unmasked nose and then hand it to the guest. Gross! When we ordered the filet, we were told they were out, mind you it was only 7 PM on a Saturday and we had a reservation. Have food brought to you? Nope! You have to season and cook your own meat on the grill while standing in the sweltering heat with 30 unmasked idiots fighting for a hotspot on the charcoal. This is cool for the experience, except if you undercooked your food, tough cookies. We went in to another room to get our sides and were told that the only things left were green beans and baked potatoes. They were rude when we asked for an extra pre-packaged butter and there was no sour cream or other condiments of any kind. The staff serving the sides and the Dole Salad Mix were rude and audibly complaining. When I asked for a to-go container for my food, these staff also told me the didn't have anything and that I could go to the front counter to get foil. Dessert consisted of cheesecake, obviously purchased at a grocery store with that delicious cardboard box taste. For the price of $50 per person, I feel robbed of an experience that could've been made better with a little organization! The wine itself was OK. My suggestion... skip the food, grab a bottle of wine and leave!

The concept is like a backyard cookout. You cook your animal protein, the host supplies the side dishes and you don't have to do any cleanup. There's also a wine tasting of a cross section of the vineyards dry to sweet red and white wines. You select the one of your choosing and your animal protein. So the place is a lot of fun. The service is good. The staff is great. We went when it was in the upper 30s to 40s. I think it'll be great when the weather is warm and accommodating of a fire or just being outdoors. Don't expect the food to be top shelf. It isn't and be prepared to get your wine. Cook your food. Go back and forth. But it's fun with a crowd and sometimes other guests at the restaurant get in on the fun times too.

It was my 60th birthday tonight . I have been going to the vinkolet for over 10years .. all of my children has celebrated their 21st birthday here , I have celebrated my birthday’s here and I am a regular visitor .. I have never had any complaints until tonight . The main reason I come here is because you could spend hours here and you’re not rushed in any way. Eat your salad , go walk the vineyard , eat your steak go outside and come back to do your dessert and coffee , take your wine and enjoy the sun setting . Kind of my Routine . Tonight as I started by saying , was my 60th birthday . My daughter had made reservations when we got there the front desk informed us that she had given our table away to someone with same last name but different first name and had to “find” us a table in the solarium.. there were no glasses on the table nor place card which is tradition , mind you it’s my birthday !! Secondly i did my routine and went outside to enjoy the sun setting , leaving our purses on the table and a whole filet with a roll that I intended on eating when I returned . I was gone 5-10 minutes , returned and all of items were gone . I looked for our purses and my Louis Vuitton bag was on the floor and its contents strewed all over the floor under the table , which my daughter had to pick Up which was witnessed by other guests and the bartender as well. I asked what happened to my meat and they brought over a manger and the first thing she did was ask if I had told the sever I would be back .. are you serious ? Once again 10 years of coming here , there were 10 people in the place walking around going in and out and their stuff was not touched nor did anyone tell a server they would be back , there was a whole filet on my plate , and our purses WERE on the table, not rocket science people !! Manager did offer to give me another steak to cook or a bottle of wine that i refused because I was just so upset at this point but that’s not why I made the fuss … 10 years coming there , it’s was my BIRTHDAY, no card on table , no wine glasses , and you basically stole my money and lied to me about her not knowing we were returning but our purses were at the table . When I mentioned that this has ruined my birthday she said “ happy birthday “ , believe me when I say I was on fire at that point and just got up and left . Birthday ruined !! This place has gone downhill and I see why .. I thought it was empty because the Taste of Cincinnati was happening but after reading some of the other comments , it’s apparent that’s not the case . Do better or close the restaurant and just be a winery !! I will...

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary here and it was our very first time even coming to your establishment. We were seated right away given menus and quickly taken to wine taste which we enjoyed. Directly after wine tasting we were told to get in a line to take our order. Fine, but we were not explained the process so we didn’t even get to look at the menus to establish what we wanted. Soon as we reached the front the cashier asked our wine and dinner order we explained we didn’t get to look at the menu and could we have the options or a menu to peek at. She then told us what you had and asked could she help the couple behind us because we weren’t ready. I felt it was rude and actually set the tone for the rest of the night. She walked away from us coming from behind the counter she literally walking to the couple behind us to assist them instead of explaining the process of the night. I honestly felt for first timers the process should have been explained at the table and could’ve prevented the uncomfortable conversation at the cashier. Once she began taking our orders she then said that the grill may be cooling down and asked did we get here late like excuse me our reservation was at 7:45 the establishment didn’t close until 10! Then we moved on to receive food and when we got to the grill we were there a long time with others because the grill was barely cooking. Once finished we moved to the buffet style where there was one server helping everyone my food was barely warm by the time we got back to the table. I however did like the food for what it was. The mashed potatoes were the highlight and the wine. We got desert cheesecake and carrot cake. Both tasted store brought. My cheesecake was so hard that I could not finish I literally at a thin layer off the top with the icing. I was hoping for a more enjoyable or experience but the tone was quickly shifted on arrival. She apologized but it was too late. we will not be returning. Customer service...
