Great hiking trail that is in Johnson Park.

The first .6 it so miles is a board walk. Your on a nature trail, so you will see various trees, flowers, wild life, and usually several other people ( some with a dog).

It has many options to take longer walks. I am uploading a photo of the map posted at the entrance. The one we do is 1.29 miles there and back. The turn around point for us is the river. It is a pretty spot to see.

Along the board walk, you have benches to rest or sit and enjoy the beauty. The seasons play a huge part of what you will see. Spring is the prettiest to me. But we love to walk it all year.

Being part of the park gives you access to bathrooms as well.

There is a picnic area at the start. Great to bring sandwiches.

If you want a smaller walk, the pond at the entrance is a .6 mile walk. Like the trail, it has benches to sit and rest or enjoy the beauty. It is an asphalt path. Has a long wooden bridge section in the back of the trail.

If you want a pleasant walk,...

Such a nice, quiet park. The boardwalk trail through the woods is a great spot to relax and stroll through the trees. There is also a dirt path and plenty of sidewalks to walk/run/bike on. Kids playing in the splash pad and playgrounds, lots of fields to run around on, and the lake with people hanging out and fishing reminds me of what a great town we live in. Try this place out.

From the parking lot, walking on the boardwalk, keep taking the rights at the Y's. This is the quickest route to the wolf...

It is a nice park full of nearly everything for nearly everybody. But some of the walkways in the parking lot area are being disrupted by the roots make it a problem with accessibility issues. And it's way too well lit at night for setting up a telescope. I don't mind sharing my telescope with others, but it's worthless with all the...

If you can park (if there's no game happening in the park), you will have a nice time. Always something eye-catching. Prepare how you would for any other day outdoors and it will be really nice. I'd be impressed with someone who managed not to enjoy their day here.

One of my absolute favorite nature spots in the Memphis area! The well-maintained boardwalk makes walking easy. You pass small lakes, swamps and bald cypress trees on the route to the Wolf River. You can also continue on a trail into the forest. So lush!
