Review of Cheyenne Mountain State Park Cheyenne Mountain State Park is a fantastic spot for a day hike, offering well-maintained trails, breathtaking views, and a peaceful escape into nature. The park’s trail system is well-marked and provides a variety of routes for all skill levels, making it a great choice for both casual hikers and more experienced adventurers. The main trailhead is easy to access and has plenty of parking, making it a convenient starting point for your hike. While the trails are usually in great condition, they can get a little muddy after rain or snow, so proper footwear is recommended. However, even with a bit of mud, the experience is well worth it. One of the best aspects of the park is the diverse scenery—rolling meadows, dense pine forests, and stunning mountain vistas all in one place. Wildlife sightings are common, adding to the park’s natural charm. Whether you’re looking for a short, relaxing stroll or a longer, more challenging trek, Cheyenne Mountain State Park is a perfect destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a scenic and well-kept hiking spot in Colorado!

Right now there is a fair bit of “dinosaur tracks” from people and horses using the trails while muddy, but that’s normal for spring. Love this park, there is a fair amount of trail variety and as many miles as you can do in a day.

Nice trailhead, big parking lot with bathrooms and a small playground for kids. Enjoyed a ten mile hike on well maintained trails with a few friends.

Great hike over at Cheyenne Mountain this morning. The temperature was nice and the air was clear. There were a few icy and muddy spots but the trails were mostly clear especially on the higher terrain (out of the shady draws). Then we had a nice picnic in the sunshine. Overall it was a great...
