Avant Vineyards — Attraction in Colorado

I did a tour of the Palisade wine area about a year ago and these guys were the hands-down winner. It's a small tasting room (located in the owner's basement) but they had an amazing variety of reds and whites, and even more amazing, they were all very solid. Colorado wine country is still very new, so it wasn't uncommon to try a winery and find they had one pretty good wine and a lot of other very mediocre or flat out bad wines. This is a smaller place compared to a lot of wineries around them, but we both liked several of the wines we tried. The tasting room is in the basement off the owners house. The actual winery is down the road when you turn in. They have it fixed up nice.
