A total must do!!! We were with 2 families with 4 adults and 4 kids (5, 6, 7 and 9) and it was an absolutely amazing day. We were picked up by the free shuttle right at our hotel. It was on time, clean and the driver had a ton to offer. We got to the ranch and we were fitted with modern and clean equipment. We only needed helmets and goggles but they also had boots/jackets/etc for anyone who needs it. Once we were outfitted the kids got to meet some of the horses and alpacas and were loving it. We all got on our snowmobiles after reviewing safety measures and then took a trip around the test track. Once we were all comfortable we headed out on into the open. We saw AMAZING views, took tons of pictures, learned about the area and had a blast. After about an hour we headed to the ‘free drive’ in a 95 acre field. It was an amazing experience!! We then headed back to the ranch and paused in the herd of bison. Seeing them up so close was like nothing we’ve ever done. They were larger than life running through the snow SUPER close to the group. The kids have loved their time here but this is definitely the day they can’t stop talking about. If you get the chance to visit Lucky 8 do not miss it. The staff were amazing, the sleds were in perfect condition and the bison were unlike anything we’ve ever...

My husband, 16 yr old granddaughter and I went on a guided ATV ride. Our guides were amazingly knowledgeable, They were thorough in presenting the rules of the road to us. Our ride covered many terrains and with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The best part was getting up close and personal with the bison herd. Our guide shared his immense knowledge of the history of the bison. We learned about the adaptations the bison have made over the millions of years of their existence. We also learned about the hierarchy of the herd and how the young and sick are protected by the herd. Our guide shared many tidbits of info about Steamboat Springs snd outlying area. He had recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. He interacted well with everyone in the group. They provided transportation from our hotel and back. Our driver was polite, likable, on time and informative. Everyone associated with the ranch were top notch. We have already recommended Lazy 8 Ranch to our family and friends. An amazing way to spend a day. If we are back this way we would go there again. We are glad our concierge suggested...

I cannot say enough about this place. We were so lucky to have beautiful day with little wind and some blue skies. It was absolutely gorgeous! We didn't off to a great start through no fault of theirs by getting our car stuck. When you pull off the roadn make sure you go to the left if you drive there. Blake and Andy had to do some extra work to get our car out (darn suburbanites!) and then corral our group of 8, but we were glad there wasn't anyone else on the adventure to hold up. They got us suited up and educated and off we went. It was a first for all of us so it was a blast! We went up and down and around and all over. Even up to a ridge looking out at Steamboat. We spent quite a bit of time with the bison, and Blake was very knowledgeable about the huge animals. We learned a lot, and we were fortunate enough to see, Leo, the rare white bison. It was so much fun getting some freestyle time out in the open as well. We both got to drive, so we could get the full experience. Highly recommend and would do it again if we come back this way. We had a blast. Two little pounts to imorove: Breaks/stops were too long in the burning sun. And the guide did unfortunately not say goodbye, she just started ckeaning up the ATVs. Other than this: A fantastic experience and great information about the bison!

My family of 4 enjoyed a 3-hour ATV tour of the scenic Lucky 8 Ranch. Our tour included a 20-mile ride, where we were able to stop and take in amazing views like Sleeping Giant Mountain and Steamboat Ski Resort. The views were indeed amazing, but the coolest part of our tour was the bison and bull feature. We got to park our ATVs and watch the bison and their babies feed, while our fantastic guide, Emily, explained the rich and touching history of these magnificent creatures. Then we drove through where the bulls were feeding and were able to get up really close to them, and we even saw a white one! We are so fortunate to have learned so much about these animals and why it’s important to advocate for them. We were able to purchase Bison short ribs, roast and jerky which all was so good. If you’re in the area and are interested in beautiful views, fluffy cows, and little bit of fun history, Lucky 8 Ranch is hands down the place to go!
