One person shared that the US Govt. should be ashamed of how this site is maintained and should cede it to the State. A little bit of research would have shown her that it is owned and maintained by History Colorado - not the U.S. Govt.
I think it’s great that the location of the arrest of Zebulon Pike’s expeditionary team by the Spaniards is marked by something — even if it is a reconstruction. It is, as fate would have it, in a remote location, and yes, possibly frequented by mosquitoes.
