Great views of the elk mountains and the Gunnison gorge. But there's to much selenium in the water so you can't keep fish. I won't swim in the water, since its not safe to eat the fish, I'm fairly sure its not safe to swim in, especially kids who ha e a tendency to swallow water. Also the ranger here has a eeal attitude problem and God complex. Doesn't know how to talk to people , he just resorts to threats instead of asking people to move their vehicles, or talking to them like an adult,, he just threatens to kick them out of the park or write a citation. A horrible person to represent the state of Colorado and the Colorado parks...

We always go to other state parks and have used the raft and never had issues until today. The park ranger was very rude and was not in the right state of mind for sure. The funniest thing was that he was supposedly "park ranger of the year". What a joke. I definitely don't recommend this lake for any...
Read moreSweitzer Lake is an absolute gem! It’s the perfect spot to spend a hot day. The park is always clean, well-kept, and trash-free, with plenty of shade and a great little swimming area. We love the barbecue grills, the free use of paddleboards and life jackets, and the fact that it’s dog-friendly—huge bonus for our family.
There are even volleyball nets, which makes it a perfect place hang out with friends. The overall atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming, and the amenities make it easy to enjoy a full day outdoors. We always have a great time here and highly...
