A beautiful spot to go take a walk, go fishing, bird watching or hanging out bye the Poudre River running along side the lake..My go to spot for some after work stress relief with it being only 15 minutes from Old Town, Fort Collins. Plenty of parking surrounding the entire lake, spots to have picnics and relax, take the edge off. Can get busy on the weekends, it’s a hit or miss though. I have never had much trouble getting peace and quiet here. Enjoy! Ol_Huckleberry_Fin

This is a nice spot for a short walk in a pleasant, rural environment, especially in cooler weather. We walked the approximately 2.5 miles of the paved trail that goes almost all the way around the lake in about 1 hour. Be aware that you cannot go all the way around the lake, as there is a section private land that is closed to the public. This is a popular spot for fishing and dog walking.

This is one of my all time favorite natural areas. It's small, but the scenery is spectacular! From golden eagle nests, to a fish hatchery, this place is unique. The sun lighting up the rock ridge, and the sunset over the lake never cease to amaze me.

I found this place by riding my bicycle to downtown fort collins and then following a trail.

The place itself its nice. Short trail around the lake (sadly it doesnt do the whole circle), great views, lot of tables to sit too.

Looks like lately a lot of young people comes here over the night and drink and trash everywhere. Some during the day just park there and put some loud music. I guess the "hidden" spot is not longer that hidden. Still a great place. The place itself is nice, the ppl around sometimes is not. SO its not fair to put 1 star because some ppl came and left trash. Its a public place with zero...
