Glacier Park Boat Co — Attraction in Columbia Falls

Reviewing the Glacier Park Boat Company location at the Lake McDonald Lodge in Glacier Park, Montana. We were waiting in line and I had an empty plastic water bottle I needed to throw away. There were no garbage cans down near the water anywhere so I asked the young man working there, David, if he would throw it away for me in his trash. He told me he would not. When I asked why he said it would fill his garbage. He told me to throw it away up near the hotel which was 2 flights of stairs up from where we were. We came back later and rented a boat from them and I left the empty bottle sitting on their counter and he rudely handed it back to me. After we returned our boat I spoke with the manager, Ethan, and told him what had happened and he gave the same response his employee had. "We can't take everyone's trash." No wonder the employees act that way. I wonder if they had rather I threw it on the ground or in the lake?? For being in the hospitality business who services the public, they need to learn some valuable lessons about being in the service industry. Their staff was poorly trained and not service oriented at all (with the exception of Peter who was very kind). Tho we enjoyed our boat ride we will never rent from them again or recommend them to anyone because of the poor way our situation...

We booked the boat tour in Many Glacier. I suppose this should be 2.5 stars. 5 stars for the initial boat ride and 0 stars for the return trip - because we couldn't get a boat back! If you plan on doing any hiking, I would not recommend the boat trip because you are not guaranteed a ride back until 530. We arrived at 130 for the 145 return trip and couldn't get on the boat. The boat has a capacity of around 50 and only 19 people could board. Many people don't disembark so there is limited room to board for the return trips. We ended up having to walk back to the hotel, which is really tough when your children are already worn out.
