I have taken part in some pretty awesome adventures, but this ranks as one of the coolest experiences ever. What an excellent way to end this crazy year. The staff were terrific, the dogs were a hoot, and I felt very comfortable with guiding the dogs and maneuvering the sled for 10 miles. Tasha and her staff are top notch. Our guides were so patient, answered all of our questions, and made sure to include us in each step of the process. We were able to meet the dogs, harness them, go through a lesson with very thorough instructions, and spend plenty of time with the dogs. We even got to help make sure the dogs were hydrated after our run. We finished the day talking to Tasha and hanging out with some of the retired dogs over tea, cookies, and puppy chow. This is a must visit for everyone. I recommend 3 to 4 hours for a 10 mile run from start to finish. Getting to Nature's Kennel was easy too. The staff provide you a helpful prep guide that includes driving directions and even local places for lodging. Thank you for an excellent...
Read moreDriving your own dog sled is a unique experience that many people can't say they have done. The ride was great, the dogs were very sweet and our guide (Noah) was fantastic. We got to help harness and unharness the dogs before and after the trip and got to give the dogs some meat snacks after the trip as well. There was good hot chocolate available after the rude in a warm cabin. I was expecting a bit more riding for the $400 paid for the two of us. For a 3 hour time slot, only about an hour was on the sled (1/2 hour driving if you switch from driver to rider at the halfway point like we did) and the first hour was mostly walking around seeing the dogs waiting for enough time to pass to start the ride. Even though we both had a great time, due to the cost, I doubt we'll ever do it again. I can only imagine how much having that many hungry dogs costs, and I get you have to make money, but I just didn't feel the experience was $400 worth. Overall it was a great experience that we can say we did once and be happy...
Read moreBefore you read any further, give Tasha a call and book your dog sled tour! Simply incredible - Tasha was super flexible in booking a night ride for my girlfriend and I (they typically book these a few days before/after the full moon) and our guide TJ was the best. When we got to the property it was pitch black and we got a tour of the kennel by headlamp. 150 Alaskan Huskies barking and howling in excitement (they don't normally get visitors at night) and we could see was their glistening eyes. Again, no comparable experience. They let us hook on and meet our dogs, who are all incredible and lovable and then we were off. It was a 10-mile, hour long trip, which was the perfect length, and at times it felt like we were flying up and down snowy banks, with the stars popping out of the sky. Truly unforgettable and all of this for around the same price as renting a snowmobile (this is 100x better).
Again, if you are anywhere near the UP in the winter, this is a...
