This review is mostly about the dog park. Separate areas for large and small dogs. It's a large dog park and the grounds aren't the best. Large puddles can be found in the large dog area, and the last time I was there a golden retriever left coated in mud. But there is plenty of parking, picnic tables inside the dog park, wheelchair accessible, port-o-potty, no running water. Wooded area.

Even though I prefer the Scioto River bike trail Big Walnut features a real gruesome bike trail I simply am addicted to. I almost landed in the river on a bump so wildly steep lol. I almost baptized myself. I was ecstatic yet surprised I aced it. Pretty good for a man 59 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣never underestimate the power of us ole geezers I love ya all have a beautiful memorial and stay safe.

Great park. The fenced dog park is great, with lots of shade and picnic tables inside and lots of room for the dogs to run. And just across the field past the pond, there’s a dirt path to Big Walnut Creek which was perfect for my dog! The creek is clean and clear and some areas might be deep enough for swimming but my dog just laid down in the shallows. Great for a hot day.

The other reviews you read - good and bad - are true. Yes, there are seldom any dogs there. Yes, when there are dogs there, too many are aggressive and their owners are rude. Yes, there are creepy white guys sitting in their cars with no dogs for extended periods of time. Yes, there is a brisk drug market there. Yes, it has two sections, small and large dog, and both are huge. Yes, portions of this park are breathtaking beautiful - seriously, there's one spot that would be great for an outdoor wedding. Yes, there are lots if wildflowers. Yes, there is a really cool wooded section, with paths and beaches, where you can walk your dog for nearly two miles.

So, use this park wisely! DON'T TAKE KIDS!!!!! Go at odd, daylight hours. Don't take your dog there to meet other dogs, but during the many off hours to work on off-leash skills or spend some quality off-leash...

Both the small dog and large dog areas were rather large! Reading reviews I expected a nightmare but there weren’t geese Everywhere, there wasn’t dog poop Anywhere, I felt very safe (there was even an adult female hanging out in a hammock between 2 trees!) and even though the weather was amazing, we had the whole field to ourselves. Picnic areas were nice and I saw no creepy old white men trying to freak on my butt! I really haven’t been to a better/bigger dog park in Cbus. Next time we’ll check out the rest of the park! Not saying these other reviews are wrong but I saw none of the negative stuff. It might change depending on the day and time and season... it’s a big city... others seem to have expected luxury accommodations. We are very lucky to have the metro parks we have located all...

Great dog park for responsible owners who have control of their dogs. Beware of Pitbulls. I tried to give them them the benefit of the doubt before entering the large dog section. Before I could even unleash my dog. She was aggressively attacked by the Pit and the owner wasn't paying attention as I was trying to get the Pit off and away from my dog. I will use the park again, but not while a Pitbull is present. That one Pit has changed my mind about friendly Pitbulls. They may be friendly with humans but not necessarily with other...
