Coon Lake County Park — Attraction in Columbus

Its a very clean beach & lake. Lotsa space & good for all ages. Its very shallow for quite aways out. The kids had a blast swimming & seeing how far out they could go. There are only a few picnic tables & benches. We bought a picnic lunch so we could stay & swim longer. Bring your own toys & floaty's or it could get pretty boring. There is a big playground but it's way behind where the beach & water are. No lifegards. There are restrooms & little showers outside to rinse off the sand. There is a big pavilion if you'd like to have several people and have a picnic or some kind of gathering. I recommend it for a fun afternoon in the sun. I am kind of partial because I live in the area, but this park and beach to me has it all. The beach area is great and CLEAN, you can bring your dog to the park if you so choose, and the swimming area is great for kids and adults. There is an area to bring your boat into shore, if someone on board needs to jump off and use the facilities, and picnic tables with grills if a picnic is what your aiming for. Awesome park. The caretakers do a great job maintaining the grounds, the beach, the pavillions (one is brand new!), the parking lots, and boat launch. There is a volleyball ball net for beach volleyball and a designated swim area. For the kids, there is a playground on site. For the family, there are picnic tables with BBQ grill stations throughout. If an easy hike is on the agenda, there are groomed trails to wander...
