Schacht Family Farm — Attraction in Columbus

My husband and I had been going to Schacht for the past 14 years. We are both from rural towns and it was the perfect place to go as it wasn't one of the crazy pumpkin patches, but just what we wanted: simply a place to pick pumpkins. We loved traversing the pumpkin patch each year trying to find that "Perfect Pumpkin". Which...we subsequently would find six or more "perfect pumpkins" that would be way too many just for two people but we loved it. We also greatly enjoyed fhe apples and apple cider that they would sell in their market. That was a treat we definitely looked forward to! We are super sad to see that Schacht has decided to pair down their offerings, but wish them a very happy "retirement" of sorts! Just a heads up for anyone planning a visit with small children- I wouldn’t recommend this as a family-friendly attraction. It’s farmers market with the option for u-pick produce. There are no children’s activities except for u-pick. When we visited today, the pumpkin patch was closed. Other than walking around, there isn’t much to do for small children. If you’re looking for a fun fall family farm, I wouldn’t make the trip. Furthermore, the staff isn’t friendly & constantly watches your children over their shoulder. One employee sternly told my toddler to “be gentle” when picking up a squash. I didn’t feel that was her place. I am very capable of monitoring my child & ensuring he doesn’t damage...

For the past few years I have been very excited to see my beautiful home decorated for the fall season with items purchased from this farm, however today marks the very LAST purchase that we'll ever make from there again and I hope that EVERYONE else will steer clear of this place. They are the most unfriendliest people I have ever seen especially for business owners. It wouldn't matter if you have the absolute best products on the market with very competitive prices, if you cannot be kind, cordial and respectful to your customers , who faithfully supports your business, then YOU DON'T NEED A BUSINESS.
