This is a great dog park except for one thing. There is no water. There is a water pump but it only works sometimes. Other than that, there are 2 sections, under 30 pounds and over 30 pounds. Both sides are large, but the large dog side is enormous. The size of it seems to encourage my dogs to run somehow. Both sides are basically just large fields with a cement pad and a cement picnic table at the entrance, but it works for the dogs. There are some trees which are still small. Eventually there should be some nice shade there. I take my dogs for different exercise each day. Sometimes we walk different places and sometimes dog parks. We go to several different dog parks and this one is where they get the most exercise and seem to have the most fun. There is a unisex handicapped porta - potty in the parking area right by the dog park. No one likes those, but they are better than nothing if you need one.
Three Creeks is an enormous metro park, but I never go to the rest of it. I think a lot of kids come here for little league and soccer. It seems fairly new. There are no potholes anywhere. All the drives are smooth. Also there are a lot of...
Read moreThree Creeks spans several miles of tails and has multiple to entrances. There are two entrances off East Williams Ave. The one East bound has a playground area but parking is usually full. So I like the West bound entrance. Way more parking. Plus you have a more trail options. And it's a short walk under the bridge to the playground area. There is a shorter trail that takes you around a pond. But depending time of year it may be like dodging duck poo with every step. The other tails are bike trails. They are paved and good for a stroller or wheel chair. Though there are some small hills and bridges so a bit of pushing involved. Parking areas usually have portapotties. Some people riding bikes on the trails are a bit more serious then they need to be and can be rude at times with people walking the trails if in the way of their biking. There are also some nice picnic areas. I've never walked the full trail but most of what I walked is completely or partially shaded with a nice breeze. I like taking my family here but only during the day. More shady folks tend to show up around sunset. Overall it's...
Read moreThree Creeks Metro Park is one of my favorite Columbus metro parks. The park facilities are good it has upkept restrooms, water fountains, and the trails are well maintained.
This park has it all. It has a dog park, bike paths, hiking trails, picnic areas, wildflowers, an off trail area, lakes, beavers, play area, and not one, not two, but three creeks.
If you like choose your own adventure games this is the park for you. If you want to go on a nice stroll through the woods they have cement paths. They have dirt paths which will serve you a more traditional hike and take you right along the creek. If you are OK with coming out of the park a little more messy to looking like you barely escaped a fight with a bog monster check out the off trail area.
Interested in living out your cottage core dreams? May is a great time to come to this park. Blue bells overtake almost every grassy surface of this park. The small blue flowers all but pour into the creeks around them creating a fairytale scene. A feast...
