I didn't actually hike the trails at Winant park today. I discovered a trail that went to Swope Park and it was 1.6 miles each way. So I hiked that because I was curious. It was very well maintained! Unless somebody is completely color blind to red, it would be almost impossible to get lost on that trail. Also at the junctions they had very good signage. I would rate the trail as moderate for someone with my kind of disabilities. I wouldn't try to take a wheelchair on that trail. But there was handicapped parking at the Winant park parking lot where I started. There's supposedly a handicapped accessible Trail at Winant park, and I'm going to return one day and...

This is actually a really nice place to hike from the trailhead. You'll walk under some power lines and then up to a fork. Really a four-way banch going forward brings you up to a Vista. Going to the right allows you to hit this big boulder-filled area. That also will eventually bring you up to that same Vista and going to the left will it can lead you to the same Vista and also into a body of trails further in that direction. It's a pretty good place to hike. It's got a lot of variety in the...

A few good short trails with a minor incline. I don't think you'll go more than 60' in total elevation so fairly easy walks for everyone. Trails are pretty well marked and a couple good views from the top. Trails are rocky with many roots in case you have restrictions on terrain. There's also a new trail on the back end which is a nice short loop. Looks like it's fairly new and not quite...

In my experience, in that, I was trying to bike it; its roots/rocks make it nearly impossible. Its a large loop and I made it about 100 feet the first attempt (about a month ago), then on my second attempt, 1.5 miles before giving up and turning around. It may be fine for walkers (still very bumpy, expect to stare at your feet the whole time), but its a no go for anything with wheels.

This is a good area to get out and enjoy the woods. Its convenient to a few neighborhoods and connects behind the Concord hospital. Nice little hikes with some uphill areas, be careful of bikers. Biking here is fun too, a few good downhill spots and a couple technical trails. The connection to Swope Park is a good ride/hike, with more trails to go on.
