Spring Valley Farms — Attraction in Conewago Township

Absolutely beautiful & picturesque property. I was so envious of the owners because I’d love to live there! Lol. The barn was really cool and beautiful inside & the detached bathrooms were neat too. I enjoyed how private the venue was too.

The reason for my rating is because one of the charming features of the property, the bridge & island, was ruined by a horrific amount of animal feces. Me & dozens of other guests were excited to go see the bridge, cross it & walk on the little island. We were horrified by the excessive poop all over the place. Ducks I guess? So I had to take my toddler & run before he got mixed up in all that.

My other issue is the fact that there’s no sink in the room of the barn where you’re getting out all the food and spreading it all out setting up what we’re gonna serve/eat and then cleaning it up and putting it away and all that. Several of us got our hands all mucked up from dealing with food and there was nowhere to wash your hands. The bathrooms aren’t that far but they’re detached, they’re in another building, and you gotta run in there when there’s people peeing and pooping. It’s just not ideal when you were doing food prep and clean up and all that.

My daughter was hooked the moment she saw where she and her bridesmaids would be getting ready the day of the wedding. Each bridesmaid had her own station with plenty of bright light and mirrors. The abundant amount of options for ceremony settings is truly one of the highlights of this venue. There are outdoor and indoor options which sets this place apart from other places. We booked a Saturday which also gave us access from Friday at noon through Saturday night. We were able to decorate most of the day Friday and held the rehearsal dinner in the barn as well which eliminates the need to book somewhere else. If I could leave 0 stars I would but it won’t let me post without at least 1 star. Careful when trying to book this place, they’re crooks. My fiancé messaged them wanting to book a special event and she was sent back a message, quoting $500, so she schedule a visit. During the visit she told the person it was for a cook out after our wedding and she was immediately told that would be $5000 now...... After telling the woman we wouldn’t pay that she said she’d talk to the owner and see what he could do, now they want $7500. Save your money and go somewhere actually worth the money.
