My husband and I were just on a small getaway and decided to stay in a Bed and Breakfast instead of a hotel for a more personable and comfortable stay. They advertise this as a Bed and Breakfast but it really isn't. We arrived at 3:00 p.m. and were greeted by the owner. We stayed on a Tuesday night and were told at check-in that the tasting room was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but we were allowed a complimentary tasting. The owner verified our payment, showed us to our room, and made sure we knew how to use the TV. That was the absolute last time we saw anyone at this winery. ||We settled into our room and returned to the tasting room for the complimentary tasting, but after a half hour of waiting for him, we left to visit other wineries before they closed for the evening. We arrived back at 8:30 p.m., thinking we could enjoy a lovely evening around the fire pit, but we were wrong. There was no one around and the place was completely dark except for the hallway lights to our room. ||The following day we awoke thinking we would have a quick breakfast before we left. We were wrong again. It was 8:30 a.m. when we finished packing up. We went to the front desk, where we checked in the day before, to be greeted with a sign on the desk that said they were in the wine cellars and thanked us for our patronage. There was no breakfast, and no one was available to greet us that morning, even to ask how our stay was. ||The only good thing about this stay was that the room was clean, but I could have gotten that at a hotel for much cheaper. The air conditioner worked, but it went into economy mode and would shut off after a specific time, so the room never got cool. There are windows, but none can be opened for any breeze. There is a patio door that can be opened, but it did not have a screen, so we couldn't open that for any cool air because we did not want any insects in the room, so the room was hot and stuffy all night, and did not make for a very restful sleep.||Overall, there was no wine, entertainment, breakfast, or...
Read moreThe room, suite 3, was very disappointing, the air conditioning was extremely loud noisy fan, very noisy. The TV in the room doesn't work, problem with that is all content is streaming and the internet connection is so poor that no matter what channel you're on would freeze up every 30 seconds, might pop back on, might not. When the TV would stay on a channel for maybe more than 30 seconds, we had to turn the volume up to 60 + to hear it over the air conditioning. We gave up that. Bring your own wine cork tools, there are glasses in room to drink the wine that you have purchased, but no way to open it when close shop at night. Also was disappointed that nobody bothers to clean the outside deck area of that suite , pile of leaves in corner of deck. Just messy. We made the best of our experience, live music on the patio was nice, and the outside grounds are nice as well. we did not use the hot tub due to the things ,debris of some sort that was on the bottom of the tub. it did not look clean enough to get in it. i can not rate the breakfast because we woke up at 5 am, i thought it was noise from adjacent suite, but it was our air conditioner, so we packed...
Read moreRecently, I got to visit here with my better half. We stopped by for one of the local cider releases from someone in our town of Geneva. We had heard people talk about Buccia before, but we hadn’t visited for ourselves. First off, everyone that works here is extremely friendly. To the point of I didn’t know if I was talking to a patron or someone that was behind the counter. The next was, while we were in a small side area playing and listening to music, the main lobby area was focused on socialization. We noticed people wearing ponchos, walking back to these gorgeous vineyard trails and outbuildings where it looked like they hosted private events. Lastly, upon leaving, they have an awesome sign that posts to almost all the wineries in the area and how many miles away they are. That sealed the experience for me. It’s not just about how awesome this winery is, but how awesome the wine region is in general. We will be coming back and invite all friends and family to do so. The grapevine terrace on the side of the semi-enclosed entrance feels like a movie set. I hope everyone that made this place a reality knows what a magical spot they’ve created means to people...
