We had the best afternoon at Markko Winery!! Not only were the wines fantastic, but Lisa was so lovely & hospitable! She allowed us to sample pretty much ALL of their wines and had so much cool information to share on each variation. It made the tasting so much fun to be able to chat with her and learn a little bit about their history & methods! It was so hard to pick a favorite because they were all so good. We ended up taking home 4 bottles (3 Chardonnay & a Cab Sav) and will definitely be back for more! Not to mention, the atmosphere was awesome! It had a quaint feel and was tucked back in beautiful woods. Thank you, Lisa & Markko Winery, for allowing us to treat ourselves today (:

We have been to Markko over the last 20 years multiple times and I was thrilled to go back. It has such a family, natural vibe - I love that they are offering food trucks and live music. If you haven't been in their woods, you should. Its shaded and magical. For those lucky enough to meet Arnie, he is buried with his mother on the estate and you can pay your respects with a small walk into the woods. His son and daughter-in-law are running the business now and are delightful. I wish we lived closer and could make it a monthly trip! Look for their fish fry and wine auctions - I cant say enough about how wonderful it is.

Nestled in the trees is this little gem. History serves this location well and it can be seen all around. We were only here a short while but wished we could have stayed longer. Wine choices are great and worth the stop.

Upon arriving to Markko's, I was greated by the sweetest guide dog Gunner who escorted me to the entrance of the tasting room. Once I crossed the threshold, I was transported to an authentic old world winery experience. I agreed to a wine tasting and was pleasantly surprised by a wine I generally don't care for and loving this creation. We took a bottle outside to the patio; we were joined by the owner and wine maker where we shared wine and stories. We were so happy to enjoy this beautiful day in a very personal and quaint setting. This is a place we will return as we felt so at home as we were welcomed as members of the Markko...
